Job Description

Is it surprising to hear that a financial institution of 1.5 million members and over $30 billion in managed assets say that success comes from focusing on people, not profits?

Our “people helping people” philosophy has guided us since 1935, driving our deep commitment to serving our members, communities, and each other. When you join our team, you become part of a purpose-driven organization where your work makes a real difference.

While we’re proud of our history, we’re even more excited about our future. With business and technology transformation on the horizon, there’s never been a better time to be part of BECU.

Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:

As Vice President of Agile Product Management, you’ll shape how product management works across BECU and strengthen the connection between enterprise strategy and execution. You’ll establish the lifecycle, operating model, governance, tools, and standards that enable consistent and effective product practices. By leading product coaches, guiding product leaders across the organization, and partnering with senior leaders, you’ll help maintain the enterprise product roadmap, address cross-product dependencies, and improve product execution outcomes.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Shape the Product Management Function: Lead BECU’s enterprise product management function, including the product management lifecycle, operating model, governance, tools, processes, controls, and continuous improvement practices.

• Coach and Develop Talent: Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and training to support employee growth and performance, and meet with staff in a timely manner to conduct performance evaluations.

• Build Consistent Standards: Implement and oversee product management standards across BECU to strengthen role clarity, product maturity, execution discipline, and the effectiveness of product leaders.

• Guide the Enterprise Roadmap: Drive the creation and ongoing maintenance of the BECU-level product roadmap, aligning it with enterprise strategy, portfolio priorities, product plans, technology capacity, and execution commitments.

• Grow Product Leadership: Identify enterprise product leadership needs, define roles, hire talent, support onboarding, and continuously coach product leaders.

• Lead Through Influence: Develop a team of product coaches while providing matrix leadership and dotted-line accountability for product leaders across BECU.

• Resolve Enterprise Constraints: Implement processes to identify, escalate, and resolve dependencies, issues, risks, capacity constraints, and tradeoffs that affect product execution or strategic outcomes.

• Strengthen Cross-Product Decisions: Establish and lead a Product Council that improves alignment, strengthens decision-making, and resolves tactical and strategic execution issues.

• Connect Plans and Priorities: Integrate product roadmaps, dependencies, funding decisions, and delivery plans in partnership with business, technology, portfolio, finance, risk, and senior leadership stakeholders.

• Advise Senior Leaders: Provide regular updates and recommendations to executive and senior leadership forums on product roadmap progress, execution risks, capacity challenges, issue resolution, and priority changes.
