Executive Director, Human Resources & Labour Relations

Location: Fort St. John, BC, Canada; Hybrid

Classification: Management Band C, Excluded

Office Location: Fort St John or Victoria

Salary: $156,715 - $187,515 – Permanent Full-Time, based on a 35-hour work week.
An additional 3% Location Allowance will be added to posted salary for northern location.

About the Job:
Reporting the Vice President, Human Resources & Workplace, and working closely with the Executive Director, Workplace & Employee Experience, the Executive Director, Human Resources & Labour Relations (ED) acts as the operational lead with responsibility for human resources development and management activities to support the delivery of human resource services across the organization.

The ED develops and leads core human resource and labour relations programs and activities within a complex unionized and excluded management environment, ensuring the BCER achieves workforce and organizational results.

The ED provides leadership to a team of human resource professionals that ensure core Human Resource and Labour Relations programs and activities adhere to collective agreements and Public Sector Employers Council directives. As priorities shift within the BCER and the organization operates in a rapidly shifting and complex environment, the ED must manage the corresponding changes to human resources programs, and ensure activities and practices are aligned with leading practice.

Working in partnership across the organization the team ensures employees have the skills, talent, and training to deliver on the BCER’s mandate.The Executive Director develops and leads core human resource and labour relations programs and activities within a complex unionized and excluded management environment, ensuring the BCER achieves workforce and organizational results.
