Baptist Health is hiring a Patient Access Representative III to join our Emergency Department at the new Baptist Silverleaf location. This is an advanced-level role responsible for supporting complex patient access activities, including registration, financial clearance, insurance verification, and front-end revenue cycle workflows. The Representative III serves as a resource to the team, supports operational continuity, assists with issue resolution, and may provide training, mentorship, and shift-level guidance.
Shift Details: Sun-Wed 4:00 pm-2:30 am
Patient Access Representative III Job Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate and timely patient registration, including complex registration and financial clearance scenarios.
- Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and other information necessary to support accurate patient access and revenue cycle processes.
- Support authorization, financial clearance, and point-of-service collection activities as assigned.
- Serve as a subject matter resource for Patient Access workflows, procedures, and front-end revenue cycle processes.
- Assist with issue resolution and provide guidance to team members regarding complex patient access situations.
- Provide training, mentoring, coaching, or shift-level guidance to Patient Access team members as assigned.
- Support daily operational continuity, including weekend on-call coverage for one or more campuses as assigned.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies and procedures.
Patient Access Representative III Experience:
- 1-2 years of customer service experience required
- 1-2 years of healthcare experience required
- 1-2 years of insurance experience required
- Three or more years of Patient Access, hospital registration, scheduling, insurance verification, authorization, financial clearance, or revenue cycle experience preferred.
- Experience serving as a trainer, preceptor, resource, or shift lead preferred.
Patient Access Representative III Education & Credential Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree or healthcare-related coursework preferred.
- Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) preferred.

Registers patients accurately and efficiently. Utilization of multiple systems and interfaces. Cross-Trained in order to work in multiple patient access areas. Maintains service excellence to patients and visitors for face-to-face and telephonic encounters. Contributes to PAS Goals as defined annually (Collections, Palm Scanning, etc.). Possesses a strong understanding of State and Federal regulations including EMTALA, AHCA, and JCAHO. Maintains a professional relationship with all clinical and non-clinical team members. Able to articulate compliance documentation and ensure completion of required patient consent forms. Maintains patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. On Call Team during week-long rotations. Flexibility to work on a rotating schedule. Responsible for selecting a region containing 4 Baptist Facilities and traveling to assignments within. Responsible for coaching team members and providing quality feedback to increase compliance and accuracy.
