Backpack Healthcare is growing our Michigan clinical team! Were looking for a compassionate, clinically strong PMHNP who wants the flexibility of part-time telehealth practice without giving up the collaboration and support that make great clinical care possible.

Backpack Healthcare provides accessible mental health care to children, teens, and young adults through telehealth. Were clinician-led and minority-owned, and our PMHNPs dont work in isolation.

Youll be part of an integrated care team alongside therapists, psychiatrists, and care coordinators, all working together to support the same child and family.

Whether youre supplementing an existing role, balancing family commitments, or expanding your telehealth practice, this role is designed to give you flexibility while keeping the clinical work meaningful.

💰 Compensation + Monthly Bonus Potential

We believe clinicians should be rewarded for the important work they do.

Our PMHNP compensation includes:

• 💵 $100 per completed psychiatric intake
• 💵 $40 per completed follow-up session
• 💰 Monthly bonus potential based on eligible clinical and performance metrics

🌟 What Youll Do

Youll provide comprehensive psychiatric care to children, teens, and young adults through telehealth, with a focus on evidence-based, family-centered treatment.

Afternoon, evening, and weekend availability is required—thats when families are most available for care.

Your day-to-day will include:

🩺 Conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and developing diagnostic formulations

📝 Creating individualized treatment plans in partnership with patients and families

💊 Prescribing and managing psychotropic medications while monitoring effectiveness, safety, and clinical progress

💬 Providing brief supportive interventions and psychoeducation alongside medication management

🤝 Collaborating with therapists, psychiatrists, and care coordinators through regular case consultation

📋 Maintaining accurate, timely clinical documentation in our EHR

👨‍👩‍👧 Educating patients and families about diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and expected outcomes

✅ What Were Looking For

Were seeking a PMHNP who has:

✔️ An active, unrestricted Michigan PMHNP license
Multi-state or compact licensure preferred

✔️ PMHNP-BC board certification

✔️ An active DEA license

✔️ A masters or doctoral degree from an accredited PMHNP program

✔️ Experience with—or a strong interest in—working with children, adolescents, and families

✔️ Comfort working independently in a telehealth environment

✔️ Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and genuine empathy
