At ASM, our Field Service organization is at the forefront of semiconductor innovation, supporting the advanced equipment and technologies that power AI, cloud computing, automotive electronics, and next-generation devices. Whether youre an early-career Field Service Technician, a seasoned Field Service Engineer, or an experienced people leader, youll play a critical role in helping our customers maximize equipment performance, uptime, and manufacturing success. What you will be working on
- Install, qualify, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair advanced semiconductor capital equipment at customer sites.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, vacuum, robotics, software, and process-related system issues.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance activities to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability.
- Serve as a trusted technical partner to customers by providing responsive support and delivering exceptional service.
- Document service activities, maintenance actions, and technical findings accurately and thoroughly.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Support, and R&D teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Support equipment upgrades, process improvements, and new technology introductions.
- Drive customer satisfaction through strong communication, technical expertise, and a commitment to operational excellence.
- For senior and management-level roles, mentor team members, lead customer escalations, and support organizational growth and development.
What we are looking for
- Associates degree, Bachelors degree, military technical training, or equivalent experience in Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, Semiconductor Technology, or a related technical field.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting aptitude.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong customer relationships.
- Ability to work in semiconductor manufacturing and cleanroom environments.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required to support customer sites.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.
- U.S. Citizens and U.S. Permanent Residents (Green Card holders) are encouraged to apply.
What sets you apart
- Experience supporting semiconductor equipment, capital equipment, or highly complex manufacturing systems.
- Knowledge of vacuum systems, robotics, automation, plasma systems, RF technology, gas delivery systems, or process equipment.
- Previous field service, maintenance, military electronics, installation, commissioning, or technical support experience.
- Experience working directly with customers in high-tech manufacturing environments.
- Leadership, mentoring, or people management experience for senior and manager-level opportunities.
- A passion for problem-solving, continuous improvement, and delivering outstanding customer experiences.
- Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates willing to relocate to one of ASMs U.S. hiring locations.
