As a Senior SDET II, you will automate the SDLC pipeline from testing through deployment and validation. ## LI-remote ## Akamai-Compute

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test II, you will be responsible for:

• Working with engineering teams to identify how to test proposed changes
• Investigating and troubleshooting any deployment-related issues, identifying root causes and providing recommendations for solutions in various environments
• Developing and maintaining automated test frameworks for code changes, including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests
• Creating and maintaining test plans and test cases for platform tools (i.e. Service Mesh, APIs, Control plane) to cover relevant scenarios and edge cases
• Collaborating in integration testing with other engineering groups and suggesting improvements to various testing environments
• Investigating requirements for safe deployment and rollback strategies, and verifying all requirements during the deployment process
• Writing and maintaining scripts to automate platform service deployment

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
• Possess solid expertise in cloud native infrastructure, and have an understanding of system internals and performance
• Demonstrate experience in building Kubernetes workflows and testing products built on Kubernetes platform
• Have experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Jenkins, Github Actions, SaltStack
• Have solid Linux fundamentals, especially around performance tuning
• Demonstrate solid Bash and scripting fundamentals
• Have deep knowledge of network fundamentals (VRF, HTTP, TLS, TCP/IP, DNS, etc.)
• Have an understanding of modern software development life cycle processes and service level objective monitoring and alerting

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from 120,400 - 216,600 CAD/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
