Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary

Performs preventive and ad hoc maintenance to packaging equipment on Second Shift. Follows industrial safety procedures and food safety standards. The main obligations of this position are the following:

Responsibilities and Duties

•  Conducts factory recommended preventive maintenance to equipment.
• Executes completion of assigned work order.
• Communicates effectively with internal customers.
• Ensures all inventory and spare parts are stocked and replenished in a timely Manner.
• Ensures safe work practices by following safety rules and regulations.
• Conducts daily safety/preoperational inspections of all equipment and report any findings to maintenance manager.
• Report any unsafe act or unsafe condition to supervisor or labor provider representative.
• Follows all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirements.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures.
• Ensures attendance of all required job-related trainings and educational sessions such as Tailgates Meetings, ect.
• Ensures usage of all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
• Must be able to stand in the work area for up to 10 hours with routine break and lunch periods.
• Maintains good housekeeping practices.
• Must be able to work weekends.
• Monthly rotating days off schedule. 
• Must be able to work overtime when required.
• Other duties as assigned including: getting moved to another group or work team/ and or shift starting time.

Qualifications and Skills

2 Plus years of experience working with conveyor belts, electric motors, replacement of bearings ect. Experience working in cold wet environments a plus.

Bilingual -English, Spanish also a plus. 

Pay rate DOE $ 21-26 per hour
