Job Description

The International Oceania Reporter Intern will cover international content focused on the China region as their regular beat for Modern Treatise.

Responsibilities:

• Write a weekly column covering the social, economic, and political topics related to nations and territories in Australasia, Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia from their perspective.

• Special region-related coverage.

Duration: 6 months

This is a virtual and unpaid internship. Yet, you will gain valuable writing experience.

Qualifications

The candidate should be adept at understanding the geopolitics of the nations and territories in Australasia, Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia.

The candidate should be adept at understanding the nuances of domestic/national politics in nations and territories in Australasia, Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia.

The candidate must be able to look at geopolitical subject matters from multiple perspectives.

The candidate must be adept at relying on fact-based evidence rather than political or activist wish-thinking.

The candidate should be adept at understanding the ever-shifting state of the economy or economies nations and territories in Australasia, Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia.
