This role requires a business-minded leader who can anticipate and navigate legal challenges in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment while enabling growth and innovation. You will be a hands-on operator who will partner cross-functionally to manage risk, enable growth, and maintain our reputation for trust and transparency.</span></div><div><br /></div><div><span>The role will report into the CFO/COO.</span></div><h3>Your day-to-day:</h3><ul><li>Lead and manage the legal, compliance and privacy functions, including managing outside counsel and future legal hires</li><li>Responsible for identifying, defining and executing on business goals and metrics for the legal, compliance and privacy functions in the context of broader business and company objectives</li><li>Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice across corporate, commercial, product, privacy, and regulatory domains to all stakeholders</li><li>Oversight of drafting, negotiating, and reviewing a wide range of agreements including vendor, partnership, licensing, and commercial contracts</li><li>Advise on and support regulatory compliance with applicable federal and state financial services laws, including consumer protection laws, privacy regulations and marketing practices</li><li>Collaborate with product, marketing and engineering teams to ensure existing and new features and initiatives are compliant with applicable laws and industry standards</li><li>Manage corporate governance matters and support fundraising, M&amp;A, and strategic transactions</li><li>Develop and implement training, policies, and internal controls to promote a strong compliance culture</li><li>Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team and the Board of Directors on all legal and regulatory matters</li></ul><h3>What you’ll bring to the team:</h3><ul><li>J.D. from a top-tier law school and membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar</li><li>10+ years of legal experience, including a mix of top-tier law firm and in-house counsel roles</li><li>Significant experience advising technology-driven, consumer-facing businesses, ideally in financial services or fintech</li><li>Demonstrated experience with providing innovative legal counsel to building new products and product development, privacy, regulatory compliance, and commercial contract negotiation</li><li>Proven ability to think strategically and apply sound, pragmatic legal judgment in a fast-paced, high-growth environment</li><li>A collaborative, low-ego approach with the ability to influence cross-functional teams</li><li>Exceptional attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills</li><li>Deep knowledge of consumer financial regulations and an understanding of key stakeholders (including consumers and regulators)</li><li>Experience leading and scaling a legal/compliance/privacy functionExperience working with an executive team and boards of directors</li></ul><div><b>Our stance on salaries:</b></div><div><span>Greenlight provides a competitive compensation package with a market-based approach to pay and will vary depending on your location, experience and skill set. The total compensation package for this position will also include a discretionary performance bonus, equity rewards, medical benefits, 401K match, and more.
