This role reports to the IoT DevOps Team Lead and includes the following responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Develop and maintain the IoT observability and monitoring strategy across systems, services, and applications to ensure real-time visibility and operational resilience</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Development, Operations, and Security—to define observability requirements across CI/CD pipelines, microservices, and IoT platforms</li><li>Foster a proactive monitoring culture by enabling teams with the right tools, practices, and automation to detect and prevent incidents before they impact users</li><li>Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reporting frameworks that provide actionable insights into system health, availability, and performance trends.</li><li>Embed DevSecOps principles into observability workflows to enhance security without compromising delivery speed or quality</li><li>Ensure all automation, CI/CD, and monitoring solutions align with Vodafone’s security and compliance standards</li><li>Support the design and ongoing refinement of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) plans, ensuring IoT systems are resilient and recoverable in the event of disruptions</li><li>Engineering excellence – we deliver new capabilities and services in an efficient way, making sure our IoT platform is secure, scalable, future-proof and cost effective</li><li>Delivery focus – we deliver the expected customer experience, results for the business and hit our financial metrics </li><li>Stakeholder management – we are collaborating with our business partners as one from delivery, communication and day-to-day relationship view point </li><li>Improve the Connectivity service delivered to Vodafone IoT customers</li><li>Assure the proper dimensioning for the owned IoT platforms, guaranteeing capacity is used efficiently</li><li>Guarantee owned IoT Connectivity platforms can cope with new products being delivered to IoT customers</li><li>Manage stakeholders and vendors as required for the technical delivery and  report project progress &amp; activities</li></ul></div></div><div><div><h2><b>Who you are</b></h2></div><div><ul><li>Degree in Software Engineering or related discipline with Computer Science</li><li>Proven Experience working with system monitoring toolchains including metrics instrumentation and monitoring in distributed systems – valued direct operational experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Loki and Tempo</li><li>Good understanding of DevOps methodology mindset, CI/CD best practices and agile principles</li><li>Understanding of OpenTelemetry concepts, traces, logs and metrics; direct experience is highly valued</li><li>Comfortable working in a Kubernetes and Docker containerized environment</li><li>Proven experience with git and version control workflows</li><li>Comfortable with scripting using  bash, python, groovy</li><li>Experience with Jenkins or any other CI/CD tool</li><li>Valued experience with integration with other DevOps stack tools</li><li>Industry experience with Software Platforms on Linux, on-premises and cloud Server technologies</li><li>Strong grasp of DevOps principles and best practices, with the ability to work across development and operations functions</li><li>Hands-on experience in Observability practices, strategy and tooling</li><li>Experience with CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI</li><li>Proven ability to design, build, and maintain effective alerting and reporting dashboards</li><li>Understanding of security principles, practices and standards and how they translate into real-world technical solutions</li><li>Able to work well within a multinational, multicultural environment</li><li>Experience working with Agile delivery methodologies, especially SAFe, desirable</li><li>Experience in complex international programmes: the role holder will need to be able to work laterally with technical (engineering and operations) and business functions (line of business, finance) within Vodafone</li><li>Good understanding of information security</li><li>Consultative, customer-focused design mind-set</li><li>Strong presentation and communication skills, to technical, business and senior management audience</li><li>Strong work planning and time management skills</li><li>Willing to learn and a strong sense of ownsership and autonomy </li></ul></div></div><div><div><h2><b>Not a perfect fit?</b></h2></div><div><p>Worried that you don’t meet all the desired criteria exactly?
