Join us as we revolutionize video understanding and multimodal AI.<h2>About the Role</h2>As a Frontend Software Engineer on the Product Engineering team, your focus will be on building and refining the user interfaces that interact with the AI video models. You’d be working with tools like React, Next.js, and TypeScript to create responsive, high-performing frontends. Youll also be collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to make sure the user experience is seamless and intuitive.We are looking for engineers with startup experience, whore comfortable navigating fast-paced environments and adapting quickly. If youre familiar with working across the stack, its a bonus. While this is a hybrid role based at our San Francisco headquarters, remote work is available for candidates currently residing in California or Washington State. Please note that remote employees will need to travel to the office for team meetups or other events as needed. <h2>In this role, you will</h2><ul><li>Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of responsive and high-performance frontend systems utilizing modern frameworks such as React, Next.js.</li><li>Collaborate closely with not only software engineers but also PMs, designers, researchers to implement user-centric design solutions that complement and enhance our evolving video understanding models.</li><li>Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and optimization techniques, delivering high-quality, performant, and adaptable frontend systems in the dynamic landscape of AI innovation.</li><li>Collaborate closely with AI engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to seamlessly integrate frontend components and maintain an intuitive user experience for our AI models.</li></ul><h2>You may be a good fit if you have:</h2><ul><li>Startup Experience: Ten+ years of experience thriving in a fast-paced startup environment, showcasing adaptability, resilience, and a proactive approach to frontend engineering challenges.</li><li>Technical Expertise: Extensive experience in frontend development (Minimum of 10 years), demonstrating proficiency in frameworks and technologies like React, Next.js, react-query, Typescript</li><li>Agile Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to swiftly adapt to changing priorities and innovate solutions within the dynamic realm of AI technology.</li><li>Communication &amp; Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborating effectively within a cross-disciplinary team in an AI startup environment.</li></ul><h2>Desired experience: </h2><ul><li>Comfortable using CSS Frameworks like Tailwind &amp; Component Libraries like Material UI to build Responsive Websites</li><li>Familiarity with popular design tools like Figma &amp; working with an in-house design team</li><li>Unit Testing with popular open-source tools like jest, react-testing-library</li><li>Familiarity with REST and API design</li><li>Prior Work Experience in Enterprise level products</li><li>Understanding of SDLC &amp; familiarity with frontend Infrastructure like ci/cd, build tooling, caching &amp; optimization etc</li></ul>Even if there are a few checkboxes that aren’t ticked through your prior experience, we still encourage you to apply!
