Our core mission is to facilitate a seamless technical onboarding experience and guide customers to their First Desired Outcome—the initial, tangible moment of success that demonstrates the value of their Kentik investment. We work collaboratively to configure the platform, deploy critical agents, and activate the first key use cases, all while building a strong foundational relationship. This highly technical role also requires extensive collaboration with multiple teams within Kentik such as Customer Success Management, Product, and the Operations &amp; Engineering team responsible for developing and maintaining the Kentik platform.<br /><br />This is truly an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual looking to join a rapidly growing global team of extremely talented engineers, and that has significant career path growth potential within the organization. </div> <h3><strong>What youll do</strong></h3> <div> <ul> <li>Own the technical onboarding and deployment experience for new Kentik customers</li> <li>Collaborate directly with customers to scope and execute the technical implementation plan, ensuring a clear path to their First Desired Outcome</li> <li>Lead the deployment and configuration of the Kentik platform, including Private Agent installation, test creation, and initial setup for new Kentik customers</li> <li>Serve as the primary technical point of contact during the customers onboarding phase, providing expert guidance and proactive support</li> <li>Work closely with Solutions Engineers, Customer Success Managers, and our Product and Engineering teams to ensure a smooth transition from pre-sales to post-sales</li> <li>Identify and escalate technical challenges or product gaps that may impact a customers successful onboarding</li> </ul> <h3><strong>What youll bring</strong></h3> <h4><em><span>Studies have shown that some candidates tend to apply to jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications. We encourage you to apply if you meet most of the criteria - even if you don’t match all of the qualifications, your skills and experience could be valuable in this role!</span></em></h4> <ul> <li>5+ years experience in a customer-facing technical role focused on software implementation or onboarding</li> <li>Customer-obsessed mindset with a passion for guiding customers to success</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills; must be able to articulate highly complex technical topics and ideas clearly, concisely, and effectively</li> <li>Strong demonstrable experience with TCP/IP and Internet routing protocols (IPv4/v6, BGP, MPLS, ISIS, OSPF, HTTP, DNS, etc.</li> <li>Strong demonstrable experience with network monitoring suites (Netflow, J-Flow, sFlow, IPFIX, SNMP, etc.</li> <li>Demonstrable experience with Linux/UNIX systems administration</li> <li>Demonstrable experience with popular network vendor CLI’s (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, etc.)</li> <li>Working experience programming/scripting (Python, Bash, Ruby, PHP, Perl, etc.)</li> <li>Working experience with APIs, maintaining RESTful code</li> <li>Working experience in network and routing security (DDoS mitigation/scrubbing, Firewalls, Security Groups, NACLs, microsegmentation, RPKI)</li> <li>Working experience in creating and analyzing traffic packet captures (tcpdump, Wireshark, etc.)</li> <li>Experience with cloud hyperscalers like AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP, or OCI</li> <li>Experience with CDN architectures (Anycast, OTT, GSLB, etc.)</li> <li>Experience with synthetic/network performance testing</li> <li>Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.</li> <li>Ability to travel up to 25% of the time</li> </ul> <h3><strong>What we offer</strong></h3> <p><span>Kentik is a fully remote company that operates globally. Our compensation philosophy encompasses a fair program for all in order to attract, engage and retain talented individuals who will drive our business and wow our customers.</span></p> <p><span>The base salary range for this position is: $128,000 - $160,000, with an expected overall targeted earnings (OTE) range of: $160,000 - $200,000.
