Expect to be treated like an owner who cares about our common goal, not someone who has to clock in and out of work. <h2>About the Role</h2> We’re looking for a Payroll Analyst to join the Finance Team here at Hungryroot!  This role will be responsible for executing our biweekly and weekly payrolls as well as providing support for state tax registrations &amp; filings and payroll and tax reporting for accounting teams.  This person will work directly with the HRBPs and Fulfillment Center leadership on all payroll changes and special pay programs to ensure that our employees are paid correctly, and on time.   Responsibilities <ul> <li>Manage the end to end payroll process, including the application of processes and policies to ensure accurate payment of both weekly and biweekly payrolls. </li> <li>Manage all payroll operations, including pay changes and audit controls.</li> <li>Be the primary point of contact for all employee payroll questions.</li> <li>Work closely with Accounting for proper recording of payroll activity to the general ledger.</li> <li>Ensure accurate processing of all special pay items such as termination pay, severance, garnishments, holidays, promotions, merit increases, employee time off policies, stock transaction tax recordings, and more.</li> <li>Drive process improvements aimed at increasing efficiency and compliance and assess opportunities for process automation.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements</li> <li>Own and manage our state payroll tax compliance, including state tax registrations, regular state tax fillings, unemployment accounts, and withholding setups.</li> <li>Execute and update payroll processes and workflows in a way that produces clear documentation of controls for external audits.</li> <li>Maintain and update general ledger codes associated with employees in the payroll system.</li> <li>Work with the People Team to reconcile issues on the weekly &amp; biweekly payroll logs and other pay items such as Leave of Absence pay schedules, quarterly bonuses, spot bonuses, sign on bonuses, benefit cost share changes from life events, etc. </li> <li>Manage benefit vendor funding for 401k, FSA, and HSA deductions</li> <li>Continually integrate AI processes into your workflow and to simplify IT for the organization, so you can spend time on the most meaningful work.</li> </ul>   Qualifications <ul> <li>4 years experience processing payroll in a non-PEO environment, with an in-depth understanding of payroll processes and state, local and federal laws related to payroll administration.</li> <li>Experience reviewing and auditing timecards in a non-exempt time tracking system for errors, missed punches, no pays, etc.</li> <li>Experience ensuring that pay rules such as overtime, time off, and holiday policies, benefits deductions, and garnishments are properly applied in the Payroll system.</li> <li>Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, data visualization, etc.)</li> <li>Dayforce experience is strongly preferred</li> </ul> <h2>Perks &amp; Benefits </h2> <ul> <li>Remote-first: work from home, work from our NYC office, work from anywhere in the US.
