This role is pivotal in scaling and streamlining payroll processes, managing vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with Indian labor and tax regulations, and supporting audits and reporting. As a key member of our global payroll function, you will act as the go-to expert for India payroll, partnering cross-functionally with People Operations, Finance, Legal, Benefits and the external vendors that support payroll operations at Highspot.</span></div><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Payroll Execution Lead end-to-end monthly payroll processing for India in partnership with external payroll vendors.</li><li>Ensure accuracy of inputs (new hires, terminations, bonuses, variable pay, leaves, tax declarations, etc.) and timely approvals.</li><li>Coordinate with internal teams (HRIS, Finance, Accounting) to align on data accuracy and timelines.</li><li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Indian payroll laws, taxation (TDS), EPF, ESIC, LWF, PT, and labor codes.</li><li>Ensure full compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations. </li><li>Support the preparation and filing for all <b>s</b>tatutory returns and reports (e.g., Form 24Q, PF returns).</li><li>Support internal and external audits, ensuring documentation and controls are in place and remediating any adverse findings.</li><li>Review and validate vendor deliverables, such as pay registers, payslips, tax filings, etc.</li><li>Act as the point of contact for India-based employees on India payroll-related questions.</li><li>Drive continuous improvement of payroll processes and controls.</li><li>Generate payroll reports for Finance, HR and management.</li><li>Partner with internal teams and vendors on system integrations, data quality, and automation.</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Minimum required 6+ years of experience leading India payroll processing and compliance with at least 2 years in a senior analyst or lead role. </li><li>Demonstrated understanding of Indian payroll legislation, statutory requirements, and compliance frameworks, including establishing controls and processes to maintain ongoing compliance.</li><li>Experience with Cloud pay and Workday required. </li><li>Strong analytical, documentation, and organizational skills.</li><li>Proven ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and handle confidential data.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly focused on.</li></ul><h3>Education</h3><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.</li><li>Payroll certification (e.g., NIPM, APA) is a plus.</li></ul><div><span>#LI-MA1</span></div><div><br /></div><div><b>Equal Opportunity Statement</b></div><div><span>We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
