In this role, youll manage a diverse team of Engineers while providing technical leadership, strategic direction, and mentorship. Were seeking an experienced technical leader who can balance hands-on technical expertise with strong people management skills to scale our infrastructure and automation capabilities.What Youll DoTeam Leadership &amp; Management<ul><li>Lead and manage a team of Engineers across cloud infrastructure and pipeline automation domains.</li><li>Provide technical mentorship and career development guidance to team members with diverse skill sets (GCP/AWS, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Harness).</li><li>Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and facilitate professional growth through training and certification programs.</li><li>Foster a collaborative culture that promotes knowledge sharing..</li><li>Recruit, onboard, and retain top-tier talent in competitive markets for cloud and DevOps engineering roles.</li><li>Establish team goals, KPIs, and success metrics aligned with business objectives and technical excellence standards.</li><li>Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with development teams, security, and operations to ensure seamless service delivery.</li></ul>Technical Strategy &amp; Architecture<ul><li>Define and drive the technical strategy for cloud infrastructure evolution and CI/CD automation advancement.</li><li>Oversee the design and implementation of scalable, multi-cloud infrastructure solutions across GCP and AWS platforms.</li><li>Guide the development of enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks using Jenkins, Harness, and related technologies.</li><li>Ensure adherence to Infrastructure as Code principles using Terraform, Ansible, and configuration management best practices.</li><li>Drive adoption of cloud-native technologies, containerization, and microservices deployment patterns.</li><li>Establish technical standards, coding practices, and architectural guidelines for both infrastructure and automation domains.</li><li>Lead technical decision-making processes and provide guidance on complex infrastructure and automation challenges.</li></ul>Strategic Planning &amp; Stakeholder Management<ul><li>Collaborate with senior leadership to align infrastructure and automation roadmaps with business objectives.</li><li>Manage planning, resource allocation, and capacity planning for infrastructure and tooling investments.</li><li>Present technical strategies, progress updates, and risk assessments to stakeholders.</li><li>Coordinate with project managers and product owners to ensure infrastructure and automation support for product deliveries.</li><li>Lead cross-departmental initiatives and represent the team in architectural review boards and technical committees.</li></ul>Who You Are                          Were looking for someone with:<ul><li>A Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.</li><li>5+ years of experience in systems engineering, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure roles with at least 3 years in technical leadership positions.</li><li>Proven experience managing teams with diverse technical specializations.</li><li>Strong technical background spanning both domains:<ul><li>Cloud Infrastructure: GCP, AWS, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, networking, security</li><li>DevOps Automation: Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, Bash/Groovy scripting, deployment automation</li></ul></li><li>Strong understanding of financial services regulations and compliance requirements (PCI DSS).</li><li>Excellent leadership and communication skills with ability to influence and motivate technical teams.</li><li>Proven track record of driving technical strategy and delivering complex infrastructure projects.</li><li>Experience with resource planning.</li><li>Polish and English at least C1 (both spoken and written)  </li></ul>Leadership &amp; Management Experience<ul><li>Demonstrated success in building and scaling high-performing engineering teams.</li><li>Experience with hiring, performance management, and career development of technical professionals.</li><li>Ability to balance technical hands-on involvement with strategic leadership responsibilities.</li><li>Experience managing distributed teams and hybrid/remote work arrangements.</li><li>Strong conflict resolution and change management capabilities.</li></ul>Nice to Have<ul><li>Advanced cloud certifications (GCP Professional Cloud Architect, AWS Solutions Architect Professional).</li><li>Experience with additional platforms and tools (Azure, GitLab CI, Kubernetes operators, service mesh).</li><li>Experience with global team management across multiple time zones.</li></ul>Who We AreEvery day, Global Payments makes it possible for millions of people to move money between buyers and sellers using our payments solutions for credit, debit, prepaid, and merchant services.
