In this role, you’ll develop critical tools and services that empower dozens of engineering and analytics teams to harness data for informed decision-making and operational excellence. Your work will play a key role in scaling the largest streaming service by providing robust engineering solutions that deliver observability, data lineage, quality, logging, and alerting—ensuring consistent and reliable data across the organization. If youre passionate about data engineering, thrive in a collaborative environment, and are excited to make a broad organizational impact, we invite you to join our team of world-class engineers.<h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Implement mission-critical applications, services, and libraries using Java, Python, and AWS technologies</li><li>Build reusable components that encapsulate complex business logic and integrate across various systems with guidance from Leads and Architects</li><li>Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to align technical strategies with business objectives.</li><li>Ensure operational excellence by delivering high-quality, maintainable, and performant systems.</li><li>Champion agile/scrum methodologies, actively participating in ceremonies and driving continuous improvement across the team.</li><li>Engage with stakeholders and end users to understand requirements, prioritize initiatives, and deliver value through both innovation and iterative enhancements.</li><li>Establish testing strategies and design test suites to cater to unit, integration and regression tests covering backward and forward compatibility.</li><li>Maintain comprehensive documentation to support data governance, system integrity, and long-term maintainability.</li><li>Define, promote, and document internal standards and best practices related to code, configuration, naming conventions, partitioning strategies, and system design.</li></ul><h2>Basic Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.</li><li>Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including work on large-scale projects.</li><li>Proven expertise in algorithmic problem-solving and system design.</li><li>Proficient in at least one programming language, with strong preference for Python or Scala.</li><li>Proficiency in cloud platforms, preferably AWS, or equivalent cloud technologies.</li><li>Hands-on experience with modern CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions for automated deployment.</li><li>Strong Hands-on experience with Graph Database like Neo4J or Neptune</li><li>Solid foundational programming skills with the ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.</li><li>Familiarity with latest tech stack in building API’s using GraphQL, AWS AppSync and Postman</li><li>Ability to manage and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.</li></ul><h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Enthusiastic about exploring emerging technologies and contributing to proof-of-concept initiatives.</li><li>Enjoys tackling complex technical and business challenges with agility and creativity.</li><li>Deep passion for automation, data-driven solutions, and innovative technology development.</li><li>Prior experience designing and building scalable, internet-facing platforms and distributed systems.</li><li>A strong portfolio of work, including GitHub repositories or notable open-source contributions, is a plus and highly valued.</li></ul><h2></h2><h2>Additional Information</h2>#DISNEYTECH#CDIThe hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $138,900.00 to $186,200.00 per year, in Seattle, WA is $145,400.00 to $195,000.00 per year and in San Francisco, CA is $152,100.00 to 203,900.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
