We design, build, and support a highly-performant distributed system that handles complex workloads at the scale required by the world’s largest organizations. Whether you thrive with solving sophisticated business problems, collaborating with agile teams, or championing innovation and software design, Workday offers an environment where your talents can thrive.About the Role<ul><li>Develop software to monitor, tune, and diagnose Workday’s cloud-based software platform</li><li>Craft and develop software instruments to monitor the health of the platform</li><li>Develop software tools to tune OMS for higher throughput and better efficiency</li><li>Manage and develop software tools to help diagnose the root cause of production incidents</li><li>Prioritizing and design of new products and features in conjunction with product management</li><li>Collaborate with architects, principal engineers and technical product managers to analyze functional requirements, devise architecture designs that provide real scalability, low latency, and high availability</li><li>Scheduling and estimation of software project tasks</li><li>Software quality assurance</li><li>Participation in development of the team, contributing to reviews of methodologies, standards, and processes</li><li>Comprehensive internal documentation of designs and product components</li><li>Resolution of defects in response to escalated support issues</li><li>Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers</li></ul>About YouBasic Qualifications<ul><li>3+ years of software engineering experience including object-oriented programming in Java and proficient in applying common design patterns</li><li>2+ years experience with development tools, such as IntelliJ/vscode, Git, Gradle, Jenkins or related technologies</li><li>1+ year experience in concurrency, multithreading, service architectures, and distributed systems</li></ul>Other Qualifications<ul><li>BS in Computer Science or related fields Required. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
