In this role, you will play a key role in enhancing our development process by creating tools in Python and automating tests for our innovative medical devices. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining device firmware in C, firmware tools, and test automation frameworks that will streamline our workflows and ensure the quality and reliability of our products. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the analysis of statistical data and the implementation of a user experience (UX) framework for data visualization and analysis.</div><h3>What you will do</h3><ul><li><b>Firmware Development:</b></li><li>Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware in C for medical devices with wearable technology and IoT connectivity.</li><li>Implement communication protocols (e.g., Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi-Fi) in C for device connectivity.</li><li>Optimize firmware for performance, power consumption, and memory usage in resource-constrained environments.</li><li>Collaborate with hardware engineers to define and implement hardware/firmware interfaces.</li><li><b>Tool Development:</b></li><li>Design and develop Python-based tools for firmware development, debugging, and testing.</li><li>Create applications for flashing firmware, collecting data from devices, and analyzing device performance.</li><li>Develop user-friendly graphical interfaces using frameworks like PySide6 to enhance tool usability.</li><li><b>Test Automation:</b></li><li>Develop and implement automated test frameworks for firmware and software components of medical devices.</li><li>Create test scripts in Python to automate functional testing, regression testing, and performance testing.</li><li>Integrate automated tests into continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.</li><li><b>Data Analysis and Visualization:</b></li><li>Analyze data collected from medical devices using Python libraries and tools, including statistical analysis methods.</li><li>Develop visualizations and reports to communicate test results, device performance insights, and statistical findings.</li><li>Implement a UX framework for data visualization and analysis, ensuring that the user interface is intuitive, visually appealing, and easy to navigate.</li><li><b>Collaboration:</b></li><li>Collaborate with firmware engineers, software engineers, test engineers, data scientists, and UX designers to understand their needs and develop tools and automation solutions that improve their workflows and enhance data insights.</li></ul><h3>What you need</h3><ul><li>Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.</li><li>4+ years of experience in C and Python development.</li><li>Strong experience in embedded systems and firmware development using C.</li><li>Experience with developing software for resource-constrained environments (e.g., microcontrollers, ARM processors).</li><li>Knowledge of communication protocols such as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Wi-Fi.</li><li>Experience with tool creation, automation, and data analysis using Python.</li><li>Experience with GUI frameworks like PySide6 is preferred.</li><li>Familiarity with test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.</li><li>Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.</li><li>Excellent communication and teamwork skills.</li><li>Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization techniques is a plus.</li><li>Knowledge of UX design principles and frameworks is a plus.</li></ul><div><u><b>Company Culture and Benefits</b></u></div><div><br /></div><div><span>Our Workplace Culture:</span></div><div><span>We’re a dynamic remote-first environment, with offices in Golden, CO and Redwood City, CA and a talented, motivated team of colleagues globally.
