ABS provides one of the primary funding sources for American Express. American Express periodically securitizes Card Member receivables and loans arising from its card business through the transfer of those assets to securitization trusts. The trusts then issue securities to third-party investors, collateralized by the transferred assets.The ABS Controllership team is responsible for the accounting, cash management, controls, and SEC &amp; Trust Investor reporting requirements to help support this vital funding source for American Express. This position will perform accounting, reporting, and analysis for the ABS Trusts. The ABS Analyst will be responsible for the key deliverables for the trusts, including daily settlement activity and the monthly reporting. Specific responsibilities include:<ul><li>Perform accounting activities and cash settlements</li><li>Ensure a strong internal control environment including SOX and other controls &amp; compliance</li><li>Manage all compliance and reporting tasks related to Regulation AB</li><li>Assist in the preparation of the annual SEC Form 10-K and the Annual Information Report for the ABS Trusts</li><li>Support the external audit engagement for Regulation AB</li><li>Provide support for automation of ABS processes, and become SME for ABS Suite to support business initiatives / key projects</li><li>Provide monthly and ad-hoc data submission to the business and Finance leadership in a standardized and intuitive manner</li><li>Support automation of ABS processes, and the evolution of optimization and standardization for the asset-backed securitization process including working closely with treasury, legal, technology, Bank and other business partners</li><li>Other ad-hoc duties as assigned</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications:<ul><li>Minimum 2+ years of proven accounting and financial experience</li><li>Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field</li><li>Strong Knowledge in U.S. GAAP accounting and reporting</li><li>High level of proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint</li><li>Ability to articulate complex ideas with brevity, simplicity, and impact</li><li>Flexibility to effectively function in a fast-paced environment, high energy team player</li><li>Excellent communication skills with an innate ability to interact at all levels of the organization</li><li>Confidence to ask questions, develop a point of view, and voice an opinion in meetings with senior executives</li><li>Motivated self-starter able to operate on multiple, confidential, diverse fronts simultaneously, with attention to detail</li><li>Natural strategic mindset or “business intuition” – ability to step back from the numbers and consider the analysis from multiple points of view, decision analysis and support skillset required</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>CPA license or actively pursuing CPA certification preferred</li></ul> Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefitsThe above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
