You’ll help ensure that Vanta’s compensation processes run smoothly today while building the foundation to scale the function effectively as the company grows. This role is highly execution- and data-focused, playing a key part in supporting our day-to-day compensation transactions and driving the analyses that inform changes to our compensation programs and philosophy.You’ll partner closely with our Finance team and People Business Partners to align compensation decisions with budgetary planning and workforce strategy. You’ll also manage key systems such as Carta (our equity platform) and Pave (our compensation benchmarking tool), and build equity burn models that help us manage dilution and cost as we scale. Over time, this role will also flex into people analytics, helping to build dashboards and deliver workforce insights that inform broader People team decisions and support the evolution of a scalable, data-driven People function.This role reports to Vanta’s Director of Compensation.What you’ll do as a Compensation Manager at Vanta:<ul><li>Partner closely with the Director of Compensation to execute and scale Vanta’s compensation processes, including salary and equity reviews, job benchmarking, and compensation band updates</li><li>Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance on budgeting, headcount planning, and equity pool management, and with People Business Partners on compensation decisions for hiring, promotions, and internal mobility</li><li>Build and maintain equity burn models to forecast and monitor dilution and total cost of ownership as the company grows</li><li>Manage and optimize our compensation and equity systems, including Pave and Carta, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and scalability</li><li>Conduct compensation data analysis and modeling to support decisions during compensation cycles and changes to our programs, with a focus on sustainable growth</li><li>Own and improve daily compensation operations—such as new hire offers and internal transfers—with a view toward automating and standardizing them to support a larger, global team over time</li><li>Support the evolution of our compensation infrastructure by helping to implement new tools, workflows, and reporting capabilities that grow with the business</li><li>Build dashboards and reports that support people analytics use cases and deliver insights across the People team and business, laying the groundwork for a scalable analytics function</li><li>Support compensation-related audits and compliance initiatives, helping ensure our compensation practices remain both competitive and consistent as we expand</li></ul>How to be successful in this role:<ul><li>4+ years of experience in compensation, people analytics, or a related field</li><li>Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills with experience building, maintaining, and simplifying compensation and equity models</li><li>Familiarity with compensation survey data (e.g., Radford, Pave) and job leveling frameworks</li><li>Experience using and managing compensation and equity platforms, particularly Carta and Pave</li><li>Strong attention to detail and a process-oriented mindset, with a focus on designing systems that scale</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex data insights clearly to stakeholders</li><li>Comfort working with confidential data and handling sensitive issues with discretion</li><li>Experience with data visualization tools, dashboard platforms or basic SQL (e.g., Looker, Tableau, or Google Data Studio) is a plus</li><li>Prior experience in high-growth or pre-IPO environments is helpful, especially where compensation infrastructure needed to scale rapidly</li></ul>What you can expect as a Vantan:<ul><li>Industry-competitive compensation</li><li>100% covered medical, dental, and vision benefits with dependents coverage</li><li>16 weeks fully-paid parental Leave for all new parents</li><li>Health &amp; wellness and remote workplace stipends</li><li>Family planning benefits through Carrot Fertility</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Flexible work hours and location</li><li>Open PTO policy</li><li>11 paid holidays in the US</li><li>Offices in SF, NYC, London, Dublin, and Sydney</li></ul>To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state.
