You will have direct input to our mission to democratize data-driven medicine for the ultimate benefit of cancer and rare disease patients across the globe.Your MissionAs our Bioinformatics Engineer, you will lead the daily operations of the Pipeline Integration task force. This critical role supports the CI/CD process by integrating various analytical solutions into SOPHiA DDM, enabling the delivery of precision diagnostics at scale. (Please note: this position does not involve machine learning development.)The value you bring<ul> <li>Coordinate and lead the activities of the cross-functional Pipeline Integration task force during each release cycle. This includes: </li> <ul> <li>Conducting the final review of Data Science developments</li> <li>Approving merge requests and stabilizing branches </li> <li>Testing the package containing all pipelines available in SOPHiA DDM</li> </ul> </ul><ul><li>Act as the primary point of contact for the Data Science department, managing coordination and communication with other departments involved in the release process. </li></ul><ul><li>Drive projects to improve the efficiency of release operations by optimizing existing processes or creating new ones. </li></ul><ul><li>Contribute hands-on to coding tasks aimed at enhancing release operations. </li></ul><ul> <li>PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or any related field with relevant industry or postdoctoral experience in Bioinformatic Software development. </li> <li>Proficient in Python, Git, and Bash.  </li> <li>Proficiency in SQL , C++ or R is a plus. </li> <li>Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) environments, bioinformatics workflows, parallelization, and containerization (e.g., Docker). </li> <li>Strong grasp of modern software development practices, including CI/CD, unit testing, code reviews, and reproducible research principles. </li> <li>Experience with NGS data analysis is a plus </li> <li>Strong project leadership and cross-functional coordination skills, with a proven ability to drive complex projects independently. </li> <li>Effective communication and collaboration skills in a multicultural and interdisciplinary environment. </li> <li>Willingness to be coached and learn about the specific software development life cycle at SOPHiA GENETICS. </li> <li>Ability to lead operational projects and take responsibility for their delivery. </li> <li>Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic setting, with the flexibility to adapt to shifting business priorities.  </li> <li>Demonstrable experience as project manager (PMO) is a plus </li> </ul>As an international organization, English is our primary business language and as part of your recruitment journey, you should expect to meet English-only speakers.
