Position Summary The Director of FP&amp;A is a key strategic leadership role responsible for building and maturing the financial planning and analysis function at Slingshot Aerospace. This individual will be a financial partner to the executive team, providing actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making, optimize resource allocation, and support the companys high-growth trajectory and capital-raising efforts. The role requires a deep understanding of high-growth technology/SaaS business models, exceptional financial modeling skills, and experience with government contracting, a plus.--- Key Responsibilities Strategic Financial Planning &amp; Analysis <ul> <li>Annual Operating Plan (AOP) &amp; Forecasting: Experience in preparing the annual budgeting process, long-range strategic financial planning (5-year plan), and the quarterly/monthly reforecasting processes.</li> <li>Executive Reporting &amp; Board Materials: Prepare and present comprehensive, executive-level financial analysis, performance dashboards, and financial materials for the CFO, CEO, and Board of Directors/Investors.</li> <li>Business Partnering: Serve as a trusted financial advisor to executive and departmental leaders (e.g., Engineering, Growth, Operations) to analyze ROI on new initiatives, manage spend against budget, and drive operational efficiency.</li> <li>KPIs and Metrics: Define, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics specific to the space, defense, and SaaS industries (e.g., ARR, burn rate, customer acquisition cost, contract profitability).</li> </ul> Operational and Systems Excellence <ul> <li>Financial Modeling: Build and maintain complex, dynamic financial models (3-statement model) to support scenario planning, M&amp;A due diligence, and capital-raising strategies.</li> <li>System Ownership: Drive the implementation, optimization, and administration of the companys financial planning and budgeting software (e.g., NetSuite Planning &amp; Budgeting, Adaptive Planning, etc.) to ensure data integrity and seamless reporting.</li> <li>Cost &amp; Profitability Analysis: Lead detailed analysis of contract profitability, cost of delivery (CoD), and Gross Margin to identify cost-saving opportunities and inform pricing strategy for commercial and government contracts</li> <li>Cross-Functional Leadership: Drive collaboration between Finance, Accounting, and Operations to streamline planning processes and enhance the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.</li> </ul> --- Preferred Qualifications <ul> <li>Experience: 6+ years of progressive experience in Finance</li> <li>Industry Expertise: Proven experience in Aerospace, Defense, or High-Growth B2B SaaS company environments, including a strong familiarity with the associated revenue recognition, cost accounting, and government contracting principles.</li> <li>Education: Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field.</li> <li>Technical Skills: Expert proficiency in financial modeling using Microsoft Excel. Hands-on experience with NetSuite and FP&amp;A planning tools.</li> <li>Investor Relations: Experience in supporting fundraising efforts, communicating financial performance to Venture Capital/Private Equity investors, and managing financial due diligence.</li> <li>Start-up/Growth Stage: Prior experience scaling a Finance function within a rapidly growing technology startup.</li> <li>Clearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen and potentially eligible to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (due to the nature of Slingshots customer base)</li> </ul> Location: Remote (ET time zone preference) Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Type: Full Time Salary: $200,000 - $235,000  <div>US-based Candidates: we are currently only able to hire residents of the following U.S. states: AZ, CA, CO, DC, FL, GA, HI, IL, IN, KS, MD, MA, MI, MN, MO, MT, NV, NJ, NM, NY, NC, OR, RI, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, WV, and WI.
