What youll do:<ul><li>Own the architecture and technical direction for the Report and Dashboard platform, ensuring it can scale to meet real-time, self-service, and embedded analytics needs.</li><li>Lead hands-on design and development of data ingestion, streaming, processing, visualization, and semantic modeling components.</li><li>Architect and develop support for import/export pipelines, data sharing, and BI connectors.</li><li>Work closely with PMs, other engineering teams, and stakeholders to define strategic initiatives, delivery milestones, and system-wide designs.</li><li>Bring AI/ML thinking—particularly Agentic AI patterns—into the reporting product experience to surface intelligent and contextual analytics.</li><li>Contribute to a modern, resilient tech stack: C#, PostgreSQL, React, Snowflake, dbt, MetricFlow.</li><li>Own: Own from end to end the short and long term technical vision of your team</li><li>Design &amp; Revamp: Design, implement and improve critical systems and components powering ServiceTitan stack; improve the security, availability, reliability, and performance of our products; drive/participate in all major architectural and strategic decisions especially those relating to scale</li><li>Improve Efficiency: Build tools to increase efficiency of all our engineers; improve performance, processes, and quality across the whole engineering team</li><li>Discover: Identify opportunities to extract or develop systems beneficial for multiple teams</li><li>Empower: Mentor and guide Engineers across engineering as a whole</li><li>60% development / 40% working on everything else</li><li>Team building: Work closely with Recruiting — in particular, interview candidates and co-own activities related to lead generation (e.g. tech talks) and screening (HackerRank tests)</li><li>Strategy: Contribute to the roadmap and resource planning</li><li>Measure Success: Determine metrics for success and constantly measure them</li><li>Collaborate: Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, engineers, Product Managers, customers, and partners</li></ul><h2>What You Bring:</h2><ul><li>B.S. in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or a related technical field.</li><li>10+ years in Software R&amp;D</li><li>Proven experience as a Principal Engineer, Staff+ Architect, or Director-level IC, ideally in a product-focused SaaS company.</li><li>Deep domain knowledge in data architecture, streaming and batch pipelines, ETL/ELT, data lake/lakehouse, data modeling, and analytics platforms.</li><li>Strong system design skills with experience building large-scale, distributed, high-performance systems.</li><li>Strong programming skills in backend languages (C# preferred, or similar), with solid SQL and understanding of data lineage and governance.</li><li>Experience embedding analytics into product UIs, building multi-tenant reporting systems, or delivering customer-facing BI experiences.</li><li>Understanding of how to leverage AI/ML and LLMs (especially Agentic AI) to create intelligent data-driven products.</li><li>Passion for clean architecture, elegant abstractions, and high engineering standards.</li></ul><h2>Preferred:</h2><ul><li>M.S. or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or a related technical field.</li><li>Hands-on expertise with Snowflake, dbt, MetricFlow, or similar cloud-based data stack.</li><li>Experience with <a href="http://cube.dev/" target="_blank">cube.dev</a>, BI connectors, and metric layer tools.</li><li>Familiarity with React and front-end architectures for interactive data visualizations.</li><li>Contributions to open-source BI/data tooling or thought leadership in the data architecture space.</li></ul>Be Human With Us:Being human isn’t about checking every box on a list. We thoughtfully consider a wide range of factors when determining individual compensation.The expected salary range for this role for candidates residing in the United States is between $244,000 USD - $326,400 USD. Compensation for candidates residing outside the United States will vary by location and the specific salary range will be discussed during the hiring process. Actual compensation for an individual may vary depending on skills, performance over time, qualifications, experience, and location. In addition to the base salary, the total compensation package also includes an annual bonus, equity and a holistic suite of benefits.
