We are looking for a Senior/Lead/Principal Software Engineer to join a new team in helping build out and scale our Search platform. Responsibilities/Duties<ul><li>Lead feature development throughout the software lifecycle: gather requirements, design, build, test, and deploy</li><li>Help scale our search services which need to support low latency and high throughput</li><li>Have experience with reliably delivering high-quality, distributed, testable, and scalable software</li><li>Mentor others in development technologies, tools, and processes</li><li>Present your own designs to internal/external groups and review designs of others</li><li>Develop test strategies, design automation frameworks, write unit/functional tests to drive up code coverage and automation metrics</li><li>Service ownership operate the service, improve supportability, and help resolve customer issues</li><li>Improve developer productivity through tooling and software engineering best practices</li><li>Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to address sophisticated problems in real-time and keep services operational and highly available</li><li>Design and develop features on public clouds like AWS, GCP.</li><li>Build tools for internal use to support software engineering best practices</li></ul>Skills and Experience  <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.</li><li>A good understanding of object-oriented programming and experience in at least one object-oriented programming language, e.g. Java, C++.</li><li>At least 5 years of object oriented programming experience</li><li>Experience using Git / GitHub</li><li>Experience in automated testing including unit and functional testing using Java, JUnit, JSUnit, Selenium</li><li>Previous experience with SaaS development</li><li>Team player, get-it-done attitude and quick learner</li><li>Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies</li><li>Experience with Search technologies like Lucene, Elasticsearch, Solr is a huge plus!</li><li>Experience working on building Search Platforms/features is a huge plus!</li><li>Experience building and deploying microservices on public clouds such as Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Platform (Big plus)</li><li>Experience with Istio service mesh, terraform, helm charts.</li><li>Advantage – working knowledge of Spring Boot, Maven, Jetty, IntelliJ IDEA.</li></ul>Preferred Requirements<ul><li>Bachelors degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline</li><li>Experience in REST API design.</li><li>Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a big plus</li><li>Experience with IR (information retrieval)/ search expertise</li><li>Experience with Search technologies like Lucene, Elasticsearch, Solr, Swiftype, Google search appliance would be great</li><li>Demonstrated ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment</li><li>Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies</li></ul>Unleash Your PotentialWhen you join Salesforce, you’ll be limitless in all areas of your life.
