As a Systems Engineer<strong> </strong>in the Esports Event Technology (EET) Team, you will support a team focused on building, supporting and maintaining the infrastructure, tooling and applications that power Riots esports events around the world. You will work in a self-guiding, cross-functional team with highly skilled individuals to ensure that Riots infrastructure is capable of supporting all Riot Esports initiatives. </p> <p>This role will require international travel as we support global and regional events. Expected travel is up to 40% per year and this role will based at the<em> </em>Riot Games Arena - Berlin, GE</p> <h2>Responsibilities:</h2> <ul> <li>Serve as the SME for technical systems, applications and services that power our live events around the world.</li> <li>Designing, supporting and maintaining our global esports infrastructure and systems.</li> <li>Working on a diverse, cross-functional team.</li> <li>Collaborate across departments and mentor engineering teammates.</li> <li>Training and coaching our TechOps teams on technical processes and procedures to ensure successful events &amp; efficient operations.</li> <li>Working a non-standard schedule.</li> </ul> <h2>Required Qualifications:</h2> <ul> <li>3-5+ years as a Systems, Support or Infrastructure Engineer with a focus on building consumer or player facing products.</li> <li>Ability to travel domestically and internationally to support Riot Esports events.</li> <li>Experience with Ansible and Terraform for automation and configuration management.</li> <li>Experience with Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline automation.</li> <li>Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, AOS).</li> <li>Experience with Docker.</li> <li>Experience with imaging and deployment tools (e.g., FOG, SCCM, Autopilot)</li> <li>Experience operating &amp; maintaining live services on Linux and Windows base, including handling emergent issues and troubleshooting</li> <li>Hands-on experience with server and network hardware installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.</li> </ul> <h2>Physical Requirements:</h2> <ul> <li>Occasionally required to lift 10/15 kilograms.</li> <li>Occasionally required to push/pull road cases.</li> </ul> <h2>Desired Qualifications:</h2> <ul> <li>Experience building or maintaining global infrastructure, systems at scale.</li> <li>Experience managing monitoring and alerting solutions.</li> <li>Experience with scripting languages like Go, Python, Powershell, or Bash.</li> <li>Experience using GIT for version control.</li> <li>Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).</li> <li>RHCE/RHCSA certification.</li> </ul> <p><em>For this role, youll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes the delight of players.
