<div>About the job:</div><div><div><div><div>The Red Hat Performance and Scale Engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us in Bangalore, India. In this role, you will collaborate with product teams and other Performance &amp; Scale engineers to plan, conduct and communicate performance evaluations of multiple microservices running in the Red Hat OpenShift cluster. Your work will help contribute and optimize Red Hat products. Youll work in a fast-paced environment.What will you do?<ul><li>Work on the performance and scale planning, testing and results communicating of more microservices</li><li>Learning and documenting about how microservices in question work, what resources they are using and what are the potential bottlenecks</li><li>Collaborate with development, quality engineers and product management to identify and resolve critical performance issues of our offerings and help guide solutions</li><li>Develop and run complex performance tests to work with OpenShift, AWS EC2, debug test issues</li><li>Perform statistical analysis</li><li>Regularly provide updates to development, quality engineers and product management teams</li><li>Use tools for metrics, monitoring and results from analysis using Grafana, Prometheus, Elasticsearch and Kibana</li><li>Help triage, debug and solve customer cases related to performance and scale if needed</li><li>Document your findings, educate the team and publicize the work the team is doing via blogs, web postings, or conference talks</li><li>Mentor other engineers and help manage the onboarding process for new hires</li><li>Provide guidance and support to associates in solving issues, removing blockers, and proposing fixes to meet the project deliveries</li><li>Work as part of an agile team to actively communicate status and complete deliverables on schedule</li></ul>What will you bring?<ul><li>An engineering degree or higher, or equivalent in computer science or a related field</li><li>Minimum of 5 years of software development experience with a focus on Microservices architecture.</li><li>Practical knowledge of Apache Kafka and REST APIs, gained over at least 2 years</li><li>At least 3 years of experience in programming languages, particularly Python</li><li>A minimum of 2 years of experience utilizing Ansible, Jenkins, Groovy, and Git</li><li>At least 2 years experience with containers and kubernetes</li><li>Passion for optimizing system performance; background in software performance and scale engineering</li><li>Experience with system monitoring and troubleshooting</li><li>Ability to convert raw data into meaningful graphs, draw conclusions, and present results to audiences with recommendations for improvement</li><li>Good knowledge of operating system internals and distributed systems</li><li>Flexibility to work with a geographically distributed remote working team</li><li>Eagerness to share knowledge and improve the skills of others around you</li></ul>The following are considered a plus:<ul><li>Experience of working with customers and helping them in their transformation journey as product advocate would be advantageous</li><li>Understanding of open source development models</li><li>Familiar with test-based development and agile or scrum methodologies</li><li>Familiar with various observability tools: monitoring, logging, profiling, etc</li></ul>#LI-BR1</div></div></div></div>About Red Hat<a href="https://www.redhat.com/" target="_blank">Red Hat</a> is the world’s leading provider of enterprise<a href="https://www.redhat.com/en/about/open-source" target="_blank"> open source</a> software solutions, using a community-powered approach to deliver high-performing Linux, cloud, container, and Kubernetes technologies.
