We started Oscar in 2012 to create the kind of health insurance company we would want for ourselves—one that behaves like a doctor in the family. <h3>About the role</h3> The Senior Accountant, SEC Reporting is responsible for preparation and execution of financial reporting processes in the SEC Reporting team. This includes but not limited to preparation of 10-Q/10-K filings with the SEC and assisting with various audit requests from external auditors. You will report to the Associate Director, SEC Reporting &amp; Technical Accounting. You will work part of the time in the office and part of the time remote / work-from-home. #LI-Hybrid Pay Transparency: The base pay for this role is: $93,600 - $122,850 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscars unlimited vacation program, and annual performance bonuses. <h3>Responsibilities</h3> <ul> <li>Assist in preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings (Form 10-Q,10-K,8-K), earnings releases and other deliverables and communications.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SEC regulations, and company policies.</li> <li>Execute and improve monthly accounting processes including but not limited to complex technical accounting areas such as investments, stock-based compensation and revenue recognition.</li> <li>Collaborate with other finance and non-finance teams (Accounting, Regulatory, Legal, FP&amp;A, Investor Relations and others) to prepare supporting documentation while ensuring completeness and accuracy.</li> <li>Support the preparation of earnings releases and other investor communications.</li> <li>Assist in ensuring a strong internal controls environment including partnering with internal and external audit teams on procedures.</li> <li>Provide ad-hoc support to Technical Accounting as needed.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned.</li> </ul> <h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or 4 years of relevant experience.</li> <li>3+ years of related experience on an accounting or reporting team.</li> </ul> <h3>Bonus points</h3> <ul> <li>Experience in a similar position at a health insurance company.</li> <li>Experience with US-based insurance companies.</li> <li>Practical experience in financial reporting.</li> </ul> <h3>Travel</h3> <ul> <li>Up to 20%</li> </ul><div>This is an authentic Oscar Health job opportunity.
