Job Description:The Staff Engineer, Cloud Platforms &amp; Operations is a senior technical leader responsible for designing, building, and optimizing scalable, secure cloud platforms that support enterprise and healthcare applications. This role drives high-impact initiatives across infrastructure and software engineering teams, championing automation, reliability, and operational excellence. The Staff Engineer, Cloud Platforms &amp; Operations manages large, cross-functional projects and contributes to the definition and execution of long-range departmental goals, including financial and strategic planning. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy and delivers solutions that significantly influence departmental results and the broader technology roadmap.Oracle DBA<ul><li>Experience administering Oracle databases (19c).</li><li>Proficient in RMAN backup &amp; recovery, Data Pump, and patching.</li><li>Knowledge of ASM, and Data Guard.</li><li>Performance tuning using AWR/ASH reports and query optimization.</li><li>Experience with PL/SQL scripting.</li></ul>AWS Cloud Skills<ul><li>Hands-on experience with core AWS services: EC2, RDS, Redshift, Document DB, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, Lambda, etc.</li><li>Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience with Terraform.</li><li>Understanding of networking concepts: VPC, Subnets, Security Groups, etc.</li><li>Familiarity with RDS snapshots and monitoring and logging using CloudWatch.</li></ul> Linux/Unix Systems<ul><li>Strong command-line skills for Amazon Linux.</li><li>Shell scripting for automation (Bash, cron jobs).</li><li>System performance tuning and troubleshooting.</li><li>Understanding of file systems, process management, and system logs.</li></ul> RDS MySQL / Aurora MySQL<ul><li>Hands-on experience managing Amazon RDS/Aurora MySQL instances.</li><li>Backup/restore strategy implementation and monitoring.</li><li>Query optimization, slow query analysis, and parameter tuning.</li></ul>PreferredAWS Document DB<ul><li>Experience in managing Document DB clusters.</li><li>Monitoring and scaling practices.</li></ul> Amazon Redshift<ul><li>Understanding the basics of Redshift database.</li><li>Data distribution, sort keys, and compression techniques.</li></ul> Tools &amp; DevOps<ul><li>Dynatrace, Bitbucket, Git, CI/CD tools for DB deployment and automation.</li></ul>NextGen Healthcare is an equal opportunity employer.
