You will be pivotal in driving engineering excellence, ensuring compliance with financial standards, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment. You’ll balance technical execution with people leadership, mentoring your team, shaping architecture, and ensuring projects are delivered with quality and speed. What you’ll get to do Technical Leadership <ul> <li>Architect and deliver scalable, secure systems for financial transactions, payments, and data processing.</li> <li>Guide technical design discussions, ensuring system performance, resilience, and maintainability.</li> <li>Enforce best practices in code quality, testing, observability, and system reliability.</li> <li>Stay up to date with emerging fintech technologies (APIs, open banking, fraud detection, blockchain) and lead adoption where relevant.</li> <li>Participate in code reviews and contribute to critical components and services.</li> </ul> Team Leadership &amp; Collaboration <ul> <li>Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers—developing both their technical and leadership capabilities.</li> <li>Collaborate closely with Product, Risk, and Compliance teams to balance innovation with regulatory and security requirements.</li> <li>Facilitate sprint planning, retrospectives, and technical discussions to keep the team aligned and focused.</li> <li>Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.</li> </ul> Delivery &amp; Execution <ul> <li>Own the end-to-end delivery of projects—from design and development to deployment and monitoring.</li> <li>Ensure uptime, fault tolerance, and operational excellence for mission-critical financial systems.</li> <li>Balance short-term delivery priorities with long-term technical sustainability.</li> <li>Proactively identify risks (security, compliance, scalability) and implement mitigation strategies.</li> </ul> To succeed in this role, you should have <ul> <li>5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a technical leadership role.</li> <li>Proven experience building and maintaining distributed systems at scale.</li> <li>Strong backend development skills in Java, Springboot Deep understanding of microservices, APIs, cloud infrastructure (GCP / any), and CI/CD pipelines with Kubernetes</li> <li>Solid knowledge of databases (Relational/NoSQL), caching, and asynchronous processing.</li> <li>Familiarity with security best practices, encryption, and compliance standards (PCI-DSS, SOC 2, GDPR).</li> <li>Experience working in FinTech, banking, or other regulated environments is a plus.</li> </ul> What we can offer you <ul> <li><a href="https://moniepoint.com/culture">Culture</a> - We put our people first and prioritize the well-being of every team member.
