Youll act as a Technical Leader and System Architect across projects, while remaining hands-on with schematic design, validation, and cross-functional integration. Youll play a pivotal role in shaping our hardware roadmap, mentoring engineers, and driving product releases from early concept through to volume production.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Why Join This Particular Team?</b></div><div>- Youre a builder, architect, and systems thinker.</div><div>- You bring clarity in ambiguity and rigor in execution.</div><div>- Youre just as comfortable sketching out the next board architecture as you are mentoring a Junior Engineer through a tricky debug session.</div><div>- You think about scale, reuse, and production from the outset.</div><div>- Youve shipped products and felt the weight of what it means to be responsible for their design—and you like it.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>NOTE: Candidate must reside in The United States or Canada.</b></div><h3>Key Responsibilities: </h3><ul><li>Lead system-level architecture and electrical design of embedded hardware platforms.</li><li>Drive schematic capture and direct PCB layout strategy for complex digital, mixed-signal, and power systems.</li><li>Own bring-up and electrical validation across functional domains (digital logic, power, sensors, interfaces).</li><li>Collaborate across firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to deliver tightly integrated, production-ready systems.</li><li>Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions on design and field issues.</li><li>Guide component selection, BOM optimization, and sourcing strategy in partnership with supply chain.</li><li>Author and enforce electrical design standards, review practices, and documentation templates.</li><li>Mentor Junior Engineers and review design work across the team.</li></ul><h3>Requirements:</h3><ul><li>10+ years of hands-on experience designing and shipping embedded electronic products.</li><li>Deep knowledge of board-level digital design, signal integrity, power systems, and interface protocols (High speed signals like USB 3.0, PCIe, gig Ethernet, or similar preferred).</li><li>Proficient in schematic and layout tools (we use KiCad), and confident driving designs through layout, fab, assembly, and test.</li><li>Extensive experience in board bring-up, lab debugging, and design verification.</li><li>Familiarity with embedded Linux SoCs, DDR layout, and compliance/EMC considerations.</li><li>Comfortable leading cross-functional design reviews and collaborating with remote teams.</li><li>Excellent written communication skills; experience authoring specs, design docs, and test plans.</li></ul><h3>Nice To Haves:</h3><ul><li>Prior work with high-speed interfaces (USB 3.x, Gigabit Ethernet, PCIe, etc.).</li><li>Experience with secure hardware design, anti-tamper features, and hardware root of trust.</li><li>Familiarity with FPGAs, especially Xilinx Zynq/ZynqMP platforms.</li><li>Exposure to compliance testing (EMI/ESD/thermal), including pre-cert practices.</li><li>Embedded firmware development in C or scripting (Python) for test/validation automation.</li></ul><h3>Compensation &amp; Benefits:</h3><ul><li>The Compensation Range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.
