This position is a full-time, hybrid position which will be located in our Louisville, CO office. Position Summary Infleqtion is seeking an exceptional Staff Electrical Engineer with leadership experience to oversee and contribute to architecting, developing, and delivering complex electronics systems to support quantum sensors in challenging environments. This position will be responsible for leading the electrical design and development of electronic systems and subsystems for Infleqtion’s quantum products, with a focus on space-deployed systems. In this role, the selected candidate will collaborate with researchers, other engineers, aerospace experts, and manufacturing to bring Infleqtion’s disruptive quantum technologies to new environments. The individual in this role has significant opportunity to influence Infleqtion’s prototype and product development and to further Infleqtion’s leadership in quantum technologies. Job Responsibilities The duties and responsibilities outlined below include essential functions of the role. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned. <ul><li>Management of a team responsible for design and delivery of electronics systems throughout the product lifecycle: concept, design, test and verification </li></ul><ul><li>Own the overall system architecture and ensure alignment with requirements and functional needs of the system </li></ul><ul><li>Presenting progress and results to the end customer </li></ul><ul><li>Overseeing and/or contributing to design of subsystems such as analog, mixed signal, microcontrollers and FPGA controllers </li></ul><ul><li>Execution of modelling, simulation, and analytical efforts required to enable product performance </li></ul><ul><li>Integration of electronics subsystems with mechanical, optical, and other subsystems </li></ul><ul><li>Identifying and engaging key suppliers </li></ul><ul><li>Following Infleqtion’s Product Lifecycle Process and supporting Phase gate reviews, critical design reviews, and executive updates </li></ul><ul><li>Supporting development of risk management plans and risk resolution, and supporting reliability analysis and continuous improvement </li></ul><ul><li>Coaching and mentoring junior engineers </li></ul><ul><li>Other duties as assigned or required </li></ul>Minimum Qualifications <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree required, with a focus in design electronics and/or embedded systems engineering </li></ul><ul><li>8+ years of relevant and progressive experience in similar roles including electrical design </li></ul><ul><li>Experience mentoring more junior engineers and leading teams </li></ul><ul><li>Experience providing consultancy and strategic support to electrical engineering projects </li></ul><ul><li>Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with all levels of an organization; Professional-level communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills </li></ul><ul><li>Demonstrated ability to work comfortably in a highly collaborative, cross-functional, team-oriented, and matrixed environment </li></ul><ul><li>Desire and demonstrated ability to thrive and produce results in a fluid, dynamic, and fast-paced environment </li></ul><ul><li>Demonstrated ability to learn new and complex topics quickly </li></ul><ul><li>Resourceful problem-solver who collaboratively identifies effective paths forward with demonstrated expertise in executing productization efforts and working in highly technical environments </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to travel domestically and (potentially) internationally up to 10% </li></ul>Desired Qualifications <ul><li>Master’s or PhD degree in electrical engineering or embedded systems engineering </li></ul><ul><li>Experience developing electronic systems for challenging non-terrestrial environments, e.g. LEO, MEO </li></ul><ul><li>Proficiency in FPGA design, implementation, and verification </li></ul><ul><li>Demonstrated ability to optimize FPGA designs for performance, power, and resource utilization in real-world applications </li></ul><ul><li>Experience in delivering new, advanced technologies to commercial markets </li></ul><ul><li>Experience in hardware DFx (design for cost, manufacturing, assembly, test, sustainment) </li></ul><ul><li>Experience working with complex systems that integrate hardware, firmware, and software. Knowledge of best practices in software engineering is a plus </li></ul><ul><li>Familiarity with Rad-hard microprocessors </li></ul><ul><li>Familiarity with embedded firmware </li></ul><ul><li>Familiarity with quantum computing, mechanics, or physics  </li></ul><ul><li>Familiarity with electro-optical design and integrated photonics </li></ul><ul><li>Active listening and presence with team members </li></ul>
