Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Redwood City, CA, Liftoff has a diverse, global presence.</div><h3>About this Role</h3> We are looking for a Sr. Manager to join our Compensation team and play a critical role in both the day-to-day operations and strategic design of compensation programs across Liftoff. This is a highly visible, hands-on role suited for a technically strong, self-sufficient compensation manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can effectively partner with senior leadership while also leading and developing a team of compensation professionals. You will bring expertise in both cash compensation and equity strategy, with a strong analytical foundation and a passion for operational excellence. Experience in adtech or a high-growth, tech-forward company is a plus. Key Responsibilities <ul> <li>Lead Compensation Operations: Own and manage the day-to-day operations of compensation programs, including job architecture, pay bands, benchmarking, salary structures, and internal leveling across all functions.</li> <li>Equity Expertise: Serve as the internal expert on equity plan design and analytics; ensure alignment with finance and legal teams. Equity incentive modeling is essential, including planning for IPO readiness or transition to public-company compensation structures.</li> <li>Data &amp; Analytics: Conduct complex compensation analyses, build scalable compensation models, and provide data-driven recommendations that influence decision-making at the executive level.</li> <li>Business Partnering: Act as a trusted advisor to HR, Finance, and business leaders, including delivering clear, concise communications of compensation philosophy, program design, and policy decisions.</li> <li>Design and Optimize Programs: Develop and refine compensation strategies, processes (e.g. compensation bands, etc), and systems that align with company goals and market competitiveness across base salary, bonus structures, and equity incentives</li> </ul> Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing and agile compensation team, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities <ul> <li>Project Leadership: Independently manage and deliver compensation initiatives such as annual compensation planning, job leveling projects, and compensation reviews for M&amp;A or reorg scenarios #ABRO</li> </ul> Qualifications <ul> <li>8–10+ years of progressive experience in compensation, ideally in a global and high-growth environment.</li> <li>Proven ability to work independently and own end-to-end execution of compensation workstreams.</li> <li>Advanced analytical capabilities and strong Excel/modeling skills; comfort with large datasets and building scalable tools.</li> <li>Deep familiarity with equity compensation structures and modeling across both private equity backed and public companies.</li> <li>Demonstrated success partnering cross-functionally with senior stakeholders, including C-level leaders.</li> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to simplify and present complex compensation concepts to a broad audience.</li> <li>Experience in high growth tech industries is a strong plus</li> </ul>   <hr /> Location: This role is eligible for full-time remote work in one of our entities: CA, CO, ID, IL, FL, GA, MA, MI, MN, MO, NJ, NV, NY, OR, TX, UT, and WA. We are a remote-first company with US hubs in Redwood City, Los Angeles, and New York City. Travel Expectations: We offer several opportunities for in-person team gatherings, including but not limited to project meetings, regional meetups, and company-wide events. Compensation: Liftoff offers all employees a full compensation package that includes equity and health/vision/dental benefits associated with your country of residence. Base compensation will vary based on the candidates location and experience. The following are our base salary ranges for this role:  <ul> <li>SF Bay Area, Los Angeles/Orange County, NYC, Seattle: $150,000 - $190,000 with bonus</li> <li>Olympia, Austin, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Boston: $140,000 - $180,000 with bonus</li> <li>All other cities and towns in our approved states: $130,000 - $170,000 with bonus</li> </ul> <hr /> #LI-EL1 We use Covey as part of our hiring and / or promotional process for jobs in NYC and certain features may qualify it as an AEDT.
