<h4>About the Job:</h4> The LaunchDarkly legal team is expanding to support our rapidly growing company. Youll be reporting to the Associate General Counsel, Head of Commercial Legal and joining a small (but mighty) Legal team. You will be asked to leverage your contract negotiation and drafting skills and to collaborate cross-functionally with other teams at LaunchDarkly, all while working in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. You will support the Sales organization by drafting, negotiating, and closing commercial transactions for the purchase of LaunchDarkly’s SaaS products. You will also manage a variety of vendor, channel, and partnership contracts. The right candidate will be comfortable with the technology required to stay connected to the team and our internal customers across multiple timezones.  <h4>Responsibilities:</h4> <ul> <li> Independently negotiate a variety of customer-related agreements including SaaS agreements, data processing agreements (DPAs), distribution/partner agreements, NDAs, and other transactions relating to the distribution and sale of LaunchDarkly’s products and services.  </li> <li> Independently negotiate and manage vendor contracts. </li> <li> Provide clear and pragmatic legal advice to non-lawyers on contract terms, including security and data privacy requirements. </li> <li> Actively participate in creation and maintenance of contracting resources such as contract templates, playbooks and handbooks. </li> <li> Participate in projects to improve internal processes and scale the department, including the development of associated training materials. </li> <li> Develop a close working relationship with business stakeholders to facilitate efficient and effective review of agreements and deliver solutions-oriented legal advice across internal functions. </li> <li> Educate, counsel, and train business owners and senior management on identified legal, regulatory and compliance risks. </li> <li> Assist with implementation and maintenance of a contracts management system. </li> <li> Advise and assist with LaunchDarkly’s general legal needs as needed. </li> <li> Contribute to a positive team environment. </li> </ul> <h4>Qualifications:</h4> <ul> <li> Graduate of an ABA-accredited law school (JD) and bar admission in good standing in your practice jurisdiction. </li> <li> 4 years of relevant sales-side transactional experience at a law firm or in-house (some in-house experience preferred), ideally with international exposure. </li> <li> Understanding of SaaS contracting models, including data privacy and revenue recognition issues. </li> <li> Proven drafting skills with an eye for detail and efficiency in drafting. </li> <li> Negotiation skills that include the ability to explain the company positions and policies effectively and succinctly. </li> <li> Strong sense of flexibility and ability to use judgment even in ambiguous situations. </li> <li> Sense of urgency, with ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple projects with competing priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to change within a rapidly growing company. </li> <li> A track record of positive collaborative experiences and cross-functional projects. </li> <li> Strong internal / external customer service skills. </li> <li> Team player with a high level of professionalism and commitment to developing strong relationships with colleagues, internal clients, and teams across the business. </li> <li> A love of learning, a curious mind, and a good sense of humor. </li> </ul> Nice to Haves:  <ul> <li> Strong preference for prior experience with a rapidly growing company </li> <li> Previous exposure to data security and privacy laws (e.g. GDPR, CCPA) </li> <li> Experience in project management of cross-functional initiatives </li> <li> Experience using and/or implementing Ironclad  </li> <li> Experience using DocuSign, Confluence, and/or Salesforce/CPQ  </li> </ul> Pay: Target pay ranges based on Geographic Zones* for Level 3:  <ul> <li>Zone 1: San Francisco/Bay Area or NYC Metropolitan Area, Boston, Seattle - $136,000 - $187,000**</li> <li>Zone 2: Irvine, LA, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Rosa, Austin, Portland, Philadelphia, Chicago - $122,000 - $168,000**</li> <li>Zone 3: All other US locations - $116,000 - $159,000 **</li> </ul> LaunchDarkly operates from a place of high trust and transparency; we are happy to state the pay range for our open roles to best align with your needs.
