You’ll ensure data integrity, performance, and availability across mission-critical systems, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business intelligence, analytics, and application development.Key ResponsibilitiesDatabase Operations &amp; Maintenance<ul><li>Install, configure, and upgrade database software (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift)</li><li>Monitor database performance, availability, and resource utilization</li><li>Perform regular database tuning, indexing, and optimization</li><li>Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies</li></ul>Data Integrity &amp; Security<ul><li>Implement and enforce database security policies and access controls</li><li>Conduct audits and ensure compliance with data governance and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)</li><li>Monitor for vulnerabilities and collaborate with cybersecurity teams</li></ul>Development &amp; Support<ul><li>Support database design and schema development for new applications</li><li>Collaborate with developers to optimize queries and troubleshoot performance issues</li><li>Create and maintain stored procedures, triggers, and views</li></ul>Monitoring &amp; Automation<ul><li>Set up alerts and event triggers for performance and integrity issues</li><li>Automate routine tasks using scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python)</li><li>Maintain documentation for database architecture, configurations, and procedures</li></ul>Collaboration &amp; Leadership<ul><li>Work closely with application teams, data engineers, and business analysts</li><li>Provide guidance and mentorship to junior DBAs or database developers</li><li>Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure scaling initiatives</li></ul>Required Skills &amp; QualificationsTechnical Skills<ul><li>Proficiency in SQL and database platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Redshift)</li><li>Experience with cloud-based databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, etc.)</li><li>Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts</li><li>Knowledge of database monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Redgate, AWS CloudWatch)</li></ul>Soft Skills<ul><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities</li><li>Excellent communication and documentation skills</li><li>Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams</li></ul>Education &amp; Experience<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field</li><li>5+ years of experience in database administration or database analyst</li><li>Certifications such as Oracle DBA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, or AWS Certified Database – Specialty are a plus</li></ul>Supporting European time-zones will be required for this position.
