With all this growth, we’re looking for people who want to learn on the job and lead projects, knowing that your ideas will impact thousands of small businesses. The roleAs a Litigation Paralegal, your role will be to:<ul><li>Independently manage and monitor the active litigation and enforcement action taken against a portfolio of users, which may include cases handled by third party debt collectors and solicitors</li><li>Investigate cases and help decide case recovery strategies to maximise repayment. </li><li>Cooperate with wider Litigation and Collections team to investigate more complex cases and occasionally advise on the appropriate escalation</li><li>Raise and manage in-house money claims using MCOL or through the CNBC</li><li>Complete Court applications to enforce County Court Judgments including charging orders, oral examinations and High Court Enforcement.</li><li>Prepare winding up petitions and statutory demands</li><li>Manage defended cases and prepare directions questionnaires, witness statements and other evidence required for hearings and trials</li><li>Occasionally attend court to swear affidavits</li></ul>We look for people who are smart, humble, motivated and who are always looking to improve.Ideally youll have:<ul><li>At least 1 year debt recovery or legal support experience in the commercial / business sector</li><li>Proven experience of raising and managing money claims</li><li>Experience in business and personal insolvency issues would be hugely beneficial</li><li>Empathy, forbearance and professionalism</li><li>Strong communication skills, confidence and diligence</li><li>Conscientious and thorough, with strong attention to detail</li><li>The ability to deal with a variety of challenges, innovate and think on your feet</li></ul>Work-life balance is incredibly important at iwoca and we offer flexible working so you can make better use of your free time.
