As we expand, were looking for a Staff Embedded Software Engineer to accelerate product development of high performance, embedded software systems.</span></p><p><span><strong> </strong></span></p><p><span><strong>Location: </strong>This position can be hybrid and/or onsite in Syracuse, NY office.</span></p><p><span><strong> </strong></span></p><p><span><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></span></p><ul><li>Lead the design and development of software components that advance our sensor’s ability to: <ol><li>Detect and track new types of targets. </li><li>Process target data with high throughput and reliable performance.  </li><li>Monitor performance and health metrics and autonomously recover from faults.  </li><li>Interact with cloud-based systems and other network components.  </li><li>Integrate with new hardware components. </li></ol></li><li>Decompose system requirements and drive key software architectural decisions based on input from product managers, program managers, and other stakeholders.   </li><li>Collaborate with Software, Systems, Digital and RF engineers to advance overall product capabilities.  </li><li>Develop performant software and improve the existing codebase as an individual contributor.  </li><li>Delegate tasking and oversee the efforts of more junior engineers. </li><li>Participate in collaborative design and code reviews.  </li><li>Play an active role in the validation and verification of both design and system-level capabilities.  </li><li>Provide professional mentorship, technical guidance, and thought leadership to engineering teams.</li></ul><p><span> </span></p><p><span><strong>What We’re Looking For:</strong></span></p><ul><li>Ownership of technical tasking from ideation to deployment. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to foster and facilitate a culture of learning and collaboration across hybrid (in-person and remote) teams. </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. </li><li>Ability to think creatively to overcome technical challenges. </li><li>Passion to drive software engineering process improvements and stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.  </li></ul><p><span> </span></p><p><span><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></span></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering with strong programming background.  </li><li>10+ years industry experience.  </li><li>Expertise in C++ and Python application development. </li><li>Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and implementation best practices. </li><li>Experience developing for and working on embedded Linux Operating Systems (Ubuntu and PetaLinux a plus). </li><li>10% travel. </li></ul><p><span><strong> </strong></span></p><p><span><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></span></p><ul><li>Familiarity with Radar Systems, Communication Systems, and Signal Processing. </li><li>Experience with analysis methods and tools developed in Python and MATLAB </li><li>Proficiency with or a desire to learn about cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). </li></ul><p><span><strong> </strong></span></p><p><span><strong>Compensation and Benefits:</strong> Hidden Level offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid parental leave, flexible time off, 401(k) with employer contributions, life insurance, disability insurance, and potential stock options.</span></p><p><span> </span></p><p><span><strong>Salary Range</strong>: The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $132,000 to $164,000 annually.
