Our Passion. Our Approach. </div></div></div></div></div></div></div>The Electrical Systems Engineer is responsible for generating a working design concept and costs for material handling systems based on AutoCAD layouts and equipment lists.  They will receive guidance from experienced Systems Engineers and managers.  The majority of the design work will take place in a brownfield environment requiring attention detail with respect to product flow around existing conveyance and structures.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Utilize the existing FORTNA costing toolset to generate mechanical equipment costs for new material handling systems, modifications to existing systems and change orders.</li><li>Collaborate with internal departments as required to estimate costs for electrical/controls engineering, electrical installation, project management, etc.</li><li>Estimating other project costs such as freight, permits, etc.</li><li>Evaluate customer Request for Quote (“RFQ”) documents and ensure that our costing is inclusive of their requirements and specifications.</li><li>Generate RFQ documentation for external material and labor suppliers.</li><li>Generate proposal documentation in Microsoft Word and Excel formats.</li><li>Lead customer design review meetings.</li><li>Lead executive level meetings to review project scope and costing with both internal stake holders and customers.</li><li>Develop and maintain and enhance a working knowledge of customer specifications.</li><li>Develop and maintain a working knowledge of various conveyor components such as conveyor drives, belting, sorters, etc.</li><li>Analyze system layouts and flow rates as required to ensure proper system operation.</li></ul>Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:<ul><li>Ability to analyze and modify AutoCAD 2D drawings.</li><li>Ability to create electrical equipment lists, bill of materials, etc.</li><li>Ability to analyze and evaluate existing control panels that will require modifications to support potential enhancements.</li><li>Ability to analyze existing electrical systems (physical obstructions, conduit, etc.) in order to create viable working solutions for customers. </li><li>Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook</li><li>Ability to communicate, both orally and written, at all levels of the business and with customers</li><li>Ability to perform detailed oriented work in a timely manner, ensuring deadlines are achieved.</li><li>Ability to keep excellent records and details of documentation of the entire phase of the proposal process.</li><li>Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time with changing priorities.</li><li>Ability to coordinate and lead executive level project cost review meetings.</li></ul>Education and Experience:<ul><li>Associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical/industrial engineering or a related field</li><li>2-4+ years’ experience in the material handling industry.</li><li>2-4+ years’ experience estimating project costs is desired.</li></ul>Other Qualifications Desired:<ul><li>Have basic working knowledge of control systems related to material handling systems.</li><li>AMR / AGV / Robotics experience a plus.</li><li>PLC / HMI experience a plus.</li></ul>Physical Requirements:<ul><li>General office environment with normal sitting, standing and minimal, nominal lifting.</li><li>PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) may be required at customer locations.</li><li>Some climbing may be required at customer locations.</li></ul>Other Relevant Information:<ul><li>Valid Driver’s License Required.</li><li>Valid Passport a plus.</li></ul>Travel Requirements:<ul><li>Approximately 25% travel to customer sites or for internal meetings.</li></ul>The base salary range for this role is $76,100 to $114,200. This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position.
