We strive to build the best Live and video-on-demand (VOD) applications in the world, and we look forward to hearing more about your skills and how they can help us achieve this lofty goal.<h2>Responsibilities:</h2><ul><li>As an Android Engineer working for Disney, you are comfortable with the Android SDK and are ready to own entire features. </li><li>You have a solid foundation of skills including debugging skills, familiarity with Android Studio, and how to maximize it. </li><li>You are prepared to dive into moderately complex issues such as memory leaks and lifecycle issues. </li><li>You understand the value of being organized, planning ahead, and accompanying features and fixes with tests and documentation. </li><li>You are eager for constructive feedback from mentors and are willing to collaborate with less experienced engineers all the same.</li></ul><h2></h2><h2>Basic Qualification:</h2><ul><li>3 years of relevant work experience</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a closely related one.</li><li>Proven experience developing native Android apps</li><li>Familiarity with the Android SDK, Activity and Fragment lifecycles, threading, custom views, and animations</li><li>Familiarity with common object-oriented programming patterns and experience with when to leverage them</li><li>Proficiency with Kotlin, Android Studio, Gradle, etc.</li><li>Be independent, hardworking, and capable of working towards results across teams</li><li>Be an excellent communicator who collaborates well across teams</li></ul>​<h2>Preferred Qualification:</h2><ul><li>Experience with Scrum and Agile methodologies</li><li>Experience with test automation, dependency injection frameworks, and continuous integration</li><li>In-depth knowledge of web-service and data-driven application architecture</li><li>Experience with streaming video, codecs, and DRM</li></ul>#DISNEYTECH The hiring range for this position in Seattle is $120,300 - $161,300 per year, New York is $120,300 - $161,300, Los Angeles is $114,900 - $154,100, San Francisco is $125,800 - $168,700. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
