In this role, you will lead initial triaging, escalation and incident response efforts, and contribute to the improvement of our detection and response capabilities.  <ul> <li>Be part of a 24/7/365 GSOC, that includes a rotating on-call schedule for overnights/weekends</li> <li>Monitor security alerts and logs from SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and other security tools to identify potential security incidents.</li> <li>Assist in the triage, investigation and management of security alerts, helping to determine the severity and impact of potential incidents.</li> <li>Assist in creating new detections (detections-as-code) during incidents, analysis, containment, and remediation, ensuring rapid response to potential threats across Linux, MacOS, and Kubernetes environments.</li> <li>Escalate incidents to senior engineers when necessary and assist with containment, mitigation, and resolution efforts.</li> <li>Maintain and update incident response documentation and reports.</li> <li>Participate in post-incident reviews, contributing to lessons learned and process improvements.</li> <li>Stay current on the latest security trends, threats, and tools, contributing to the development of improved detection and response strategies.</li> <li>Provide support for security awareness initiatives to help educate staff on security best practices and phishing defense.</li> </ul> <h4>Who You Are: </h4> <ul> <li>Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security, Information Technology or similar experience.</li> <li>1-2 years of experience in forensics, incident response, or security operations.</li> <li>Foundational experience with Linux and MacOS systems, including deep knowledge of system internals, logging, and forensic artifacts.</li> <li>Foundational understanding of information security concepts, including incident response, threat detection, and network security.</li> <li>Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux, or MacOS) and an understanding of basic system logs and commands.</li> <li>Knowledge of security tools such as SIEM, EDR, or firewall systems.</li> <li>Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for learning about cybersecurity.</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to work well in a team environment.</li> <li>Scripting or coding knowledge (e.g., Python, Bash)</li> <li>Basic Understanding of Kubernetes is a plus</li> <li>Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or similar are a plus but not required.</li> </ul> Wondering if you’re a good fit? The starting salary will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. We strive for both market alignment and internal equity when determining compensation.
