About the Role  The Mechanical Engineering team at Capella is responsible for designing and building all types of hardware ranging from test fixtures to full satellites.  We support the full design life cycle starting from requirement definition all the way to product delivery.   As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be assisting in the design of our next generation satellites and everything in between to get us to space.  Good communication is a must as you will be working cross functionally among different teams to come up with designs that satisfy system level requirements.  Role Responsibilities <ul> <li>Requirement definition </li> <li>Concept layout </li> <li>Product design with CAD </li> <li>Creating drawings for fabrication </li> <li>Assisting in procurement and production </li> <li>Verification with stress analysis and/or testing.</li> <li>Hands-on Assembly, Integration and Testing (AI&amp;T) with Prototypes</li> <li>Hands-on Assembly, Integration and Testing (AI&amp;T) with Flight hardware </li> </ul> Preferred Qualifications <ul> <li>Solidworks CAD and analysis</li> <li>PLM with ARAS or Equivalent</li> <li>Electronic Packaging and  RF design.</li> <li>Design and validation for space environments</li> <li>To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Capella Employees must be a U.S. citizen, lawful U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce, as applicable.
