Your work will focus on pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in cloud computing, exploring new technologies, and developing innovative solutions that align with the company’s strategic goals.Working closely with your development and portfolio colleagues, together you will bring new solutions to the cloud following a standard framework to ensure they are operationally secure, stable and scalable.The global, 24x7 nature of the team means there may be a requirement for occasional work outside of the standard day and to be on call as part of a shared team rota.Key responsibilities <ul><li>Provide timely and effective response to incidents to minimise the impact on our customers and keep colleagues updated as required.</li><li>Work with development teams to advise and contribute to improvements to operational stability, security, cost management and reporting requirements for our cloud solutions.</li><li>Continually develop and improve DevOps processes, adding value through optimisation, automation and effective reporting.</li><li>Oversee relevant Cloud deployments to ensure successful implementation, track and report progress, resolve or escalate release issues.</li><li>Proactively manage cloud environments to minimise service impacting issues, including infrastructure as code, certificates, storage, health status, backup status etc.</li><li>Ensure new services meet required operational readiness standards before being accepted into operations.</li><li>Ensure on-going compliance to security practices and policies.</li><li>Provide subject matter expertise to business stakeholders as required.</li><li>Maintain clear and accurate operational documentation.</li><li>Stay current on security industry trends, tools and best practices.</li></ul>Ideal experience The following list applies to Azure and/or AWS Platforms.<ul><li>At least 5 years of experience in software development or DevOps/SRE, with at least 3 years focused on cloud environments.</li><li>Strong programming skills in languages such as C#, Go, Node.js or Java.</li><li>Expertise in cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.</li><li>Proficient in containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.</li><li>Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or GitHub.</li><li>Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.</li><li>Knowledge and experience of operational support, software development and deployment methodologies and principles.</li><li>Knowledge of PowerShell or Node.js scripting.</li><li>Knowledge of API, REST, microservices and serverless architectures.</li><li>Deep understanding of cloud security, networking, and storage solutions.</li><li>Willingness to learn cloud security principles, practices and tools.</li><li>Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, able to convey information clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical audiences.</li><li>Excellent analysis and dissemination skills.</li></ul>Great skills to have <ul><li>Attention to detail, diligent and tenacious.</li><li>Experience of Azure Service Operator (ASO), Helm and GitOps practices.</li><li>Knowledge of cloud trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.</li><li>Excellent communication and teamwork skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently and manage multiple project simultaneously.</li><li>Hands-on experience working within an Information Security accredited framework e.g. ISO27001, 27017/18.</li><li>Experience working in Agile software development such as Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).</li></ul>The team you’ll join “Our team is doing some of the most exciting work at AVEVA: working with a broad range of cloud technologies and services across multiple platforms, keeping our customers and AVEVA safe and secure.” –Phil Bailey (manager) R&amp;D at AVEVA Our global team of 2000+ developers work on an incredibly diverse portfolio of over 75 industrial automation and engineering products, which cover everything from data management to 3D design.
