Key job responsibilities Problem Solving: • Maintain high system reliability by prioritizing and resolving trouble tickets efficiently, serving as an escalation point and technical troubleshooter for systems and network hardware problems. • Investigate and resolve complex Linux server issues. • Troubleshoot XEN service virtualization problems. Technical: • Troubleshoot technical issues across systems, networking, and power/mechanical domains. • Remediate physical layer outages in systems and networks, including power-related problems. • Participate in data center power and cooling events. Operations: • Work rotating shifts to meet 24/7 on-call requirements. • Install and configure server racks per internal SLAs. • Triage and resolve trouble tickets for all devices in the assigned region. • Act as the data center point of contact for high-severity issues. • Replace server and network device parts as needed. • Ensure correct rotation of spare parts. • Contribute to uptime improvement metrics. • Enforce Amazons security best practices. • Interact with third-party vendors, contractors, and remote hands/eyes. Project Management: • Participate in and deliver high-impact small to mid-scale projects. • Attend team meetings for metric analysis and project status updates. • Contribute to building the worlds largest cloud infrastructure.
