This is a pivotal, dual-role position for a strong, people-focused leader who will be responsible for both driving the technical excellence of a portion of our Engineering organization and acting as the cross-functional country leader for all of Zuora in India. Based in our Bangalore office, this leader will be a key steward of our global culture, a local brand ambassador, and an essential partner in our mission to be the indispensable foundation for the future of business driven by AI. This leader will report to the SVP of Engineering, with a virtual reporting line to the Chief Product &amp; Technology Officer (CPTO). <h4>Key Responsibilities</h4> Country Leadership: <ul> <li>Culture &amp; Community: Act as a strong, charismatic leader to build and maintain a cohesive and high-performing culture for our ~450 employees in India, ensuring it is aligned with Zuora’s global values and vision.</li> <li>Brand Ambassador: Serve as Zuora’s public face and brand ambassador in India, with the responsibility to build our brand, attract top talent, and enhance our presence within the local technology ecosystem.</li> <li>Cross-Functional Alignment: Provide cross-functional leadership and support to all teams in India, fostering collaboration and alignment across various departments beyond Product &amp; Technology.</li> <li>Strategic Voice: Represent the India organization to senior leadership globally, ensuring local perspectives and needs are understood and integrated into company-wide strategy.</li> </ul> Engineering Leadership: <ul> <li>Team Management: Directly lead and manage Data Platform Engineering team in India, with accountability for their execution, quality, and performance.</li> <li>Talent Strategy: Be responsible for attracting, hiring, and retaining a talented and experienced employee base. Build a strong, resilient organization that can scale efficiently.</li> <li>Technical Mentorship: Provide strong technical mentoring and virtual leadership for Engineering leaders, serving as a role model and executive resource to drive technical excellence and professional growth.</li> <li>Innovation &amp; Efficiency: Drive a culture of innovation and efficiency within the engineering teams, ensuring they are well-aligned with our next-gen strategy and capable of delivering with speed and quality.</li> </ul> <h4>Skills &amp; Qualifications</h4> <ul> <li>Technical Depth in Data Platform: </li> <ul> <li>Expertise in data warehouse strategy and architecture</li> <li>Ability to design and manage data ingestion and pipeline; Experience in managing data latency &amp; freshness, data consistency &amp; integrity</li> <li>Proven experience scaling and optimizing large data platforms for performance and cost efficiency</li> <li>Experience building data platforms that enable advanced analytics and AI/ML use cases.</li> </ul> <li>Executive Leadership: Proven experience as a senior technology leader for a multinational company (e.g., VP of Engineering, CTO, or similar role) with a strong track record of managing large, diverse engineering teams.</li> <li>Cultural Acumen: A charismatic leader who excels at building a strong, cohesive culture and inspiring teams in a fast-paced, global environment.</li> <li>Strategic Vision: Ability to translate a high-level company vision into actionable plans and drive execution in a complex organization.</li> <li>Communication: Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.</li> <li>Global Experience: Experience working with and leading distributed teams across multiple time zones, with a readiness for frequent travel to the Bay Area (1-2 times per quarter).</li> <li>India Market Expertise: Strong understanding of the technology landscape in India, with a network to support brand building and talent acquisition.</li> </ul>   Our Tech Stack: Java, Spring, Rest API, Microservices, Kafka, Spark, NodeJS, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, AngularJS  #ZEOLife at Zuora As an industry pioneer, our work is constantly evolving and challenging us in new ways that require us to think differently, iterate often and learn constantly—it’s exciting.
