We are seeking an experienced Insider Threat Analyst to join our team, focusing on detecting, analyzing, and mitigating risks associated with insider threats. This role is critical to safeguarding the Zscaler’s data and systems against accidental or malicious activity by insiders.  You will be reporting to the VP, Corporate CISO, working as an individual contributor you will:

  • Monitor and analyze systems, logs, and user activities to identify unusual behavior and potential security incidents related to insider threats
  • Investigate insider threat incidents to determine root causes, recommend corrective actions, and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders
  • Collaborate across teams (e.g., IT, HR, Legal) to design and implement insider threat management strategies and security controls
  • Create and maintain playbooks and workflows for responding to insider threat incidents effectively
  • Leverage behavior analytics tools and develop actionable insights to improve insider detection and response

What Were Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: insider threat, data protection, cloud security, or security operations
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams—such as IT, HR, and Legal—while educating stakeholders, implementing insider threat strategies, and maintaining discretion and confidentiality
  • Proven expertise in utilizing and optimizing security analytics tools and frameworks to detect and address insider threats effectively
  • Understanding of insider threat lifecycle methodologies and related technologies, including Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems and User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA) tools
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or related discipline

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Extensive experience with Zscaler’s product portfolio (Cyberthreat Protection, Data Protection, Zero Trust Networking, and Risk Management) in large-scale corporate IT environments, alongside proficiency in programming languages like Python or JavaScript and automation tools
  • Certifications in cybersecurity and insider threat, such as GCITP, CISSP, Certified Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), or Certified Computer Examiner (CCE), with expertise in security analytics highly preferred

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range
$115,500$165,000 USD
