About the Team:We are the core middleware engineering team (Zoom Async Team), responsible for building and maintaining the mission-critical backend infrastructure that powers the entire company. Our team designs and develops self-developed, high-performance middleware systems, including AsyncMQ, AsyncSearch, AsyncFile, AsyncNotification etc. These systems form the foundation of over 400+ business services across the organization.We leverage cutting-edge technologies to deliver  common shared backend platforms with high performance, high availability and high controllability, providing robust and reliable support for massive-scale data and service operations.What You’ll Do:<ul><li>Design, develop, and optimize Java-based microservices that form the building blocks of our self-hosted middleware solutions.</li><li>Build and operate high-throughput Async File system</li><li>Integrate and optimize cloud storage platforms including AWS S3, DynamoDB, and OCI.</li><li>Deploy, monitor, and scale services in Kubernetes (K8s) environments.</li><li>Tune system and application performance; diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks.</li><li>Set up and maintain comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and observability using APM tools and Linux-based diagnostics.</li><li>Collaborate with other backend teams to improve infrastructure reliability and developer efficiency.</li></ul>Required Skills &amp; Qualifications:<ul><li>6 + years experience in Java backend development in microservices architecture</li><li>Possess experience in Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems patterns</li><li>Have Nginx and Lua scripting</li><li>Have working experience in Linux environments, proficient with Shell scripting.</li><li>Possess hands-on experience with AWS (S3, DynamoDB) and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)</li><li>Have kubernetes, containerization, and services orchestration experience</li><li>Understand communication protocols: TCP, HTTP, HTTP/2, WebSocket.</li><li>Have in-depth knowledge of JVM internals, garbage collection tuning, and performance profiling</li><li>Experience with APM tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, SkyWalking, or similar).</li><li>Mandarin Chinese language – a plus for cross-regional collaboration.</li></ul>Salary Range or On Target Earnings:Minimum:$98 900,00Maximum:$228 700,00In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications &amp; experience.We also have a location based compensation structure;  there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locationsAt Zoom, we offer a window of at least 5 days for you to apply because we believe in giving you every opportunity.
