Role Description – Equine Specialist (South Florida)
The US Equine business at Zoetis is focused on delivering maximum value through portfolio solutions and building long-term partnerships. More than just products, Zoetis offers services, expertise, and innovative value-added solutions supported by a direct sales force and technical services teams.
The Equine Specialist will manage the Zoetis Equine business across a defined South Florida territory, including Wellington. This includes working with distributors, veterinarians, dealers, and horse owners. A strong understanding of the Equine market and a willingness to travel are required.
Position Responsibilities
Call on Equine and Mixed Animal Veterinarians, Dealers, and Distributor Representatives
Clearly differentiate Zoetis products from competitor offerings
Deliver educational training and showcase strong selling skills at accounts and seminars
Build and sustain relationships across veterinarians, distributors, OTC dealers, farm personnel, and university contacts
Work collaboratively with Equine distribution partners to drive territory sales
Manage a diverse customer base and geographic area to meet/exceed sales goals
Develop trust with customers through credibility, follow-up, and reliable support
Use data analysis and business planning to prioritize and execute territory goals
Maintain technical and commercial knowledge of:
Zoetis portfolio
Equine industry dynamics
Local business and financial drivers
Collaborate as a strong team player
Perform other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) or equivalent experience required
A master’s in Animal Science or a related field is a plus
Minimum Experience:
6+ months for Associate Equine Specialist
2+ years for Equine Specialist
8+ years for Senior Equine Specialist
Strong preference for candidates with:
Animal Health experience
Equine industry knowledge
Willingness to travel overnight approximately 50% of the time, including some weekends
Technical Skill Requirements
In-depth product and disease knowledge
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
Physical Position Requirements
Valid driver’s license required
Willingness to drive to customer sites (farms, clinics, dealers)
Comfortable working on equine farms and around horses
Willing to engage in animal care tasks including product administration and education
