<h2>Job Description</h2>We are seeking a highly experienced Staff Engineer to join our Apps &amp; Extensibility team in Pune.Note: This is a hybrid role, combining remote and on-site work, requiring 3 days in the office in PuneYou have at several years of experience in software development, demonstrate proactive problem-solving, technical expertise, with a strong background in React and Ruby On Rails, deep understanding of JavaScript and TypeScript fundamentals, familiar with Cloud computing and event driven asynchronous systems. You have been producing high quality code, tests and documentation, contributing to solution designs and maintaining operational excellence. You have championed and ensured the team adhere to the best Engineering practices and coding standards, and you have mentored team members to ensure the collective success of the team.You are reliable and resilient, obsessed with customer satisfaction with a can-do attitude.About the team The Apps &amp; Extensibility team is part of the External Developer Platform group, responsible for development and operations of the App Marketplace, Marketplace Payment, App Runtime, and App Development Tools. This team works closely with the Sandbox and Integrations and Automations group, collectively supporting the company’s platform and AI automation strategies.What you get to do every day:<ul><li>Be the technical leader of the team and oversee the technical aspects of delivery and operations commitments</li><li>Produce high quality reusable code, tests and documentation</li><li>Lead solution designs, help the team to make technical decisions</li><li>Collaborate with EM and PM to produce technical roadmap</li><li>Champion best Engineering practices and coding standards</li><li>Continuously improve your own and your teammates’ technical ability via mentoring, pairing, PR reviews and feedback</li><li>Actively seek to improve our infrastructure, code, processes and practices</li><li>Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, Security and Operations across all phases of the software lifecycle</li><li>Mentor junior engineers within the team</li></ul>What you bring to the role:<ul><li>7 years of experience in software development, preferably in a SaaS environment</li><li>Extensive experience working with Ruby on Rails</li><li>Extensive experience working with JavaScript/TypeScript, DOM and Browser APIs</li><li>Solid problem-solving and critical thinking skills</li><li>Good experience of designing and consuming REST APIs</li><li>Good experience with Cloud technologies/tools (AWS)</li><li>Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery</li><li>Ability to communicate technical decisions effectively, and explain complex technical concepts in simple terms</li><li>Great interpersonal skills, ability to work with Product and Design counterparts, and to work collaboratively across teams</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively in English</li><li>Ability to work independently and proactively</li></ul>Please note that Zendesk can only hire candidates who are physically located and plan to work from Karnataka or Maharashtra.
