They should be able to concisely and accurately share knowledge with their teammates.</span></p></div><h3>About the Role</h3> <p>As an AI Tutor specialized in presentation and writing, you will contribute to xAIs mission by training and refining Grok to produce well-reasoned and highly readable written outputs. Key qualities for this role include a proven record of published works, the skill to discern and improve the readability of AI-generated text, and meticulous attention to detail with a background as a writer or editor.</p> <h3>Responsibilities</h3> <p>You will use proprietary software to provide labels, annotations, and inputs on projects involving text composition, readability, and structural refinement. You must support the delivery of high-quality curated data that ensures polished, coherent outputs with optimal phrasing and engagement. In this effort, you will collaborate with technical staff to develop tasks that improve AIs ability to generate well-crafted writing with superior textual presentation. You’ll also work with technical staff to improve annotation tools for efficient workflows.</p> <h3>Required Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>Demonstrated high proficiency in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.</li> <li>Established portfolio of published works, such as articles, books, or reports.</li> <li>Ability to assess and refine AI outputs for readability, ensuring smooth clarity, logical flow, and audience-appropriate style.</li> <li>Exceptional attention to detail, with demonstrated experience in writing or editing roles, focusing on grammar, consistency, and precision.</li> <li>Proficiency in reviewing and critiquing written materials, with strong skills in content organization and narrative enhancement.</li> <li>Strong ability to utilize reference materials, style guides, and resources for accurate, high-standard annotations.</li> <li>Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and editorial skills.</li> <li>Commitment to developing AI that excels in sophisticated writing and textual quality.</li> </ul> <h3>Preferred Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>Advanced experience in professional writing, editing, or content creation, including roles at publications or agencies.</li> </ul> <h3>Location &amp; Other Expectations</h3> <ul> <li>This position is based in Palo Alto, CA, or fully remote.</li> <li>The Palo Alto option is an in-office role requiring 5 days per week; remote positions require strong self-motivation.</li> <li>If you are based in the US, please note we are unable to hire in the states of Wyoming and Illinois at this time.</li> <li>We are unable to provide visa sponsorship.</li> <li>Team members are expected to work from 9:00am - 5:30pm PST for the first two weeks of training and 9:00am - 5:30pm in their own timezone thereafter.</li> <li>For those who will be working from a personal device, please note your computer must be a Chromebook, Mac with MacOS 11.0 or later, or Windows 10 or later.</li> <li>You must own and have reliable access to a smartphone.</li> </ul> <h3>Compensation</h3> <p>$45/hour - $100/hour</p> <h3><strong>Benefits:</strong></h3> <p>Hourly pay is just one part of our total rewards package at xAI.
