They should be able to concisely and accurately share knowledge with their teammates.</span></p></div><h3>About the Role</h3> <p>As an AI Tutor specialized in image and video, you will contribute to xAIs mission by training and refining Grok to interpret and produce visual content with precision and a keen artistic insight. Key to this role is expertise in cinematography or videography, a track record of producing and sharing visual works (including via online platforms), experience creating short films, advertisements, or marketing materials, and a refined aesthetic judgment in visual composition and storytelling.</p> <h3>Responsibilities</h3> <p>You will use proprietary software to provide labels, annotations, and inputs on projects involving images, videos, and multimedia elements. You must support the delivery of high-quality curated data that captures visual nuances and enhances Grok’s understanding of cinematographic techniques. To this end, you will collaborate with technical staff to develop tasks that improve Grok’s ability to interpret and generate visual narratives effectively. You’ll also work with technical staff to improve annotation tools for efficient workflows.</p> <h3>Required Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>Demonstrated high proficiency in Film, Media Studies, Visual Arts, or a related field.</li> <li>Demonstrated expertise in cinematography or videography, including hands-on production and a keen eye for high-quality visual aesthetics.</li> <li>Proficiency in analyzing and critiquing visual media, with strong skills in composition, lighting, editing, and narrative flow.</li> <li>Ability to reference industry standards, trends, and tools for evaluating and annotating visual content.</li> <li>Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and creative skills.</li> <li>Commitment to developing AI that excels in visual interpretation and creation.</li> </ul> <h3>Preferred Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>Portfolio of published visual content, such as films, videos, or online posts, including short movies, ads, or marketing campaigns.</li> <li>Experience in film production, video editing, content creation, or roles involving visual critique and feedback.</li> </ul> <h3>Location &amp; Other Expectations</h3> <ul> <li>This position is based in Palo Alto, CA, or fully remote.</li> <li>The Palo Alto option is an in-office role requiring 5 days per week; remote positions require strong self-motivation.</li> <li>If you are based in the US, please note we are unable to hire in the states of Wyoming and Illinois at this time.</li> <li>We are unable to provide visa sponsorship.</li> <li>Team members are expected to work from 9:00am - 5:30pm PST for the first two weeks of training and 9:00am - 5:30pm in their own timezone thereafter.</li> <li>For those who will be working from a personal device, please note your computer must be a Chromebook, Mac with MacOS 11.0 or later, or Windows 10 or later.</li> <li>You must own and have reliable access to a smartphone.</li> </ul> <h3>Compensation</h3> <p>$45/hour - $100/hour</p> <h3><strong>Benefits:</strong></h3> <p>Hourly pay is just one part of our total rewards package at xAI.
