If anyone claiming to represent X-energy directs you in a manner otherwise, please contact us at <a href="https://www.x-energy.com/contact-us" target="_blank">www.x-energy.com/contact-us</a>.Job DescriptionThis role is responsible for general accounting operations and control company financial transactions, which includes reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining the general ledger, preparing month-end, quarter-end, and/or year-end close procedures, and ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all company accounting tasks.  Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities<ul><li>Perform timely and accurate month-end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.</li><li>Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and consolidating transactions.</li><li>Prepare and maintain reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and other general ledger accounts.</li><li>Support internal and external audits.</li><li>Support Project Setup and Maintenance in the accounting system.</li><li>Support Billing.</li><li>Research proper accounting treatments for certain transactions as needed.</li><li>Troubleshoot any recurring process issues, determining root causes and driving solutions.</li><li>Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, including Sarbanes-Oxley.</li><li>Assist with special projects as needed.</li><li>Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.</li><li>Lead the execution of the core tasks and responsibilities, listed in the Job Profile Task/Responsibilities section of this document, without close supervision and complete latitude for independent judgement.</li><li>Lead the monthly and quarterly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation.</li><li>Review and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.</li><li>Lead and collaborate with financial teams to ensure the correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end.</li><li>Lead the billing and project setup functions.</li><li>Lead all financial audits by serving as a point of contact for both the internal and audit team, assisting with the resolution of issues and open items.</li><li>Manage information requests by auditors during SOX Audits.</li><li>Lead monthly sales and use tax reporting and support other tax reporting requirements for the company.</li><li>Assist in the development and maintenance of accounting policy and procedures for key close transactions, ensuring an effective internal control environment.</li><li>Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.</li><li>Share ownership in financial system requirement documentation and future system changes or implementations.</li><li>Identifies opportunities and implements process improvement and automation in a dynamic environment.</li><li>Provide feedback and guidance to more junior team members with the execution of the core tasks and responsibilities listed in the Job Profile Task/Responsibilities section of this document.</li><li>Serve as a mentor to junior team members.</li><li>Shares knowledge related to industry best practices and standards with others across the organization.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by manager.</li></ul>Job Profile Minimum Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelors degree in accounting from an accredited institution is required.</li><li>Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.</li><li>Typically, 10-20 years of experience in an accounting role.</li><li>Government contracting experience performing similar tasks desired.</li><li>Intermediate level knowledge in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) with a focus on Excel required.</li><li>Extensive experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g. Deltek Costpoint, Unanet, Jamis).</li><li>Experience using Deltek Costpoint a plus.</li><li>Expert level knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards required.</li><li>Expert level knowledge and understanding of monthly financial statements with general ledger reconciliation skills.</li></ul>Location: 530 Gaither Road, Rockville, MD Travel Expectations: 5%       Work Site Expectations: 3 days in office, 2 days remote      Hours: 8:00 am -
